Company and/or departmental trips - 2-3 team building and achievement trips per year, such as skiing and snowboarding, cat skiing, snowshoeing, white water rafting, race car driving, etc. Annual company retreat - this year, we're going to the beach; in previous years we were camping POSITION DESCRIPTION The HVAC Service Lead is a senior technician responsible for diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing residential HVAC systems, with a strong emphasis on heat pumps and modern inverter-driven equipment. This role also carries leadership responsibility, supporting technicians in the field, reinforcing company policies, and representing the GreenSavers brand in customers' homes. Top responsibilities: General Responsibilities • Diagnose, maintain, and repair residential HVAC systems, including:, • Heat pump systems, • Inverter-driven mini-split and ducted systems, • Mitsubishi, Quilt, Panasonic, and similar manufacturers, • App-driven and smart HVAC equipment, • Gas and electric furnaces, • Gas and electric water heaters, tankless, and heat pump water heaters, • Identify maintenance risks and system performance issues, proactively diagnose, balance, and troubleshoot residential HVAC systems, • Work closely with dispatch to provide prompt, efficient, and high-quality service, • Identify underperforming or aging HVAC systems and present appropriate equipment upgrades or replacement solutions to customers., • Aid in growing the service department as a whole, • Take control of our online recordkeeping of service notes to keep client and install documentation up to date., • Help the HVAC department with problem solving and troubleshooting of install and/or service issues, • Aid the install department with various tasks when necessary, • Consulting with other HVAC leaders in the company on technical topics and issues, • Staying up to date on new developments in HVAC, • Maintaining a positive relationship with our distributors and company representatives Leadership & Accountability • Help manage the service department along with its technicians, • Serve as a technical mentor and trainer for other technicians, • Promote and enforce workplace safety standards, • Ensure technicians follow company policies for:, • Breaks and lunch periods, • Work schedules and timekeeping, • Take responsibility for the health and safety of your team in the field, • Ensure proper use of PPE and adherence to safety best practices Professional Conduct • Represent the GreenSavers brand professionally, especially in clients' homes, • Follow all GreenSavers policies related to harassment, violence, and bullying, • Operate company vehicles in compliance with licensing and safety requirements Qualifications: • 7+ years of residential HVAC service technician experience, including lead or senior-level responsibilities, • Strong diagnostic expertise in residential HVAC systems, with a focus on troubleshooting, repair, and optimization rather than new installs, • A proven history of managing profitable service departments, • In-depth understanding of inverter-driven heat pump systems, including mini-split and ducted configurations, • Hands-on experience servicing modern, app-driven HVAC equipment, • Proficiency in HVAC low-voltage controls, wiring, and system communication issues, • Demonstrated ability to identify maintenance risks and system performance issues, • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to clearly explain findings and recommendations to homeowners, • Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to mentor, train, and support other service technicians, • EPA 608 certification, • Strong time management, reliability, and attention to detail, • Clean safety record with a solid understanding of workplace safety best practices, • Knowledge of applicable residential HVAC codes in the Portland Metro area, • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
