Job Description Legal Assistant – Civil Litigation Location: Dallas, TX Job Description: Our client, a Dallas-based law firm is seeking a highly skilled and proactive Legal Assistant with a strong background in civil litigation to join their legal team. This role is ideal for candidates who thrive in fast-paced environments, demonstrate meticulous attention to detail, and excel at providing comprehensive administrative support to attorneys. Key Responsibilities: • Prepare attorneys for court proceedings, hearings, and trials through efficient organizational and administrative support., • Draft, review, and proofread legal documents such as motions, pleadings, discovery responses, briefs, and subpoenas., • Monitor deadlines, manage case files, and ensure all documents are filed promptly and accurately (Texas state/federal e-filing systems experience required)., • Schedule and coordinate appointments, meetings, court appearances, and travel arrangements., • Act as a point of communication with clients, witnesses, opposing counsel, and court personnel., • Compile and organize exhibits and other materials needed for court proceedings., • Prepare correspondence, presentations, expense reports, and other administrative duties as required., • Uphold strict confidentiality standards, ensuring compliance with ethical guidelines. Qualifications: • Associate’s degree or higher preferred., • Minimum of five years of experience in civil litigation, particularly in federal litigation, bankruptcy, and appellate procedures., • Expertise in Texas court rules, e-filing systems, and platforms like PACER., • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (ability to create Tables of Contents, Tables of Authorities, and document templates is key)., • Familiarity with legal software tools like Net Docs and case management systems (e.g., Clio) preferred—but not required., • Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage deadlines effectively., • Strong interpersonal communication skills; capable of working both independently and collaboratively.
