Job DescriptionDescription: HEALTH COMPLIANCE MONITORING 1.Monitor child health requirements including immunizations, well-child exams, dental exams, screenings, and follow-up documentation in accordance with HSPPS, licensing requirements, and agency timelines. 2.Conduct ongoing monitoring, tracking, and review of health-related documentation and compliance requirements utilizing GoEngage and other agency systems. 3.Review health records and documentation to identify missing, incomplete, expired, or non-compliant items and coordinate follow-up with Family Coaches and program staff. 4.Conduct health file reviews, audits, and compliance checks to support program monitoring, ongoing oversight, and federal review preparation. 5.Prepare reports and maintain documentation related to health compliance, monitoring activities, and program requirements. 6.Monitor and support implementation of health screenings, referrals, follow-up activities, and health-related timelines. INDIVIDUALIZED HEALTH CARE PLANS & MEDICATION COORDINATION 7.Review physician orders, prescriptions, medical documentation, and health-related care instructions to support implementation of individualized health care plans (IHCPs) and medication administration procedures. 8.Coordinate meetings with parents/guardians and center staff regarding individualized health care plans, medication administration requirements, emergency procedures, and health-related accommodations. 9.Provide training, technical assistance, and guidance to designated center staff regarding medication administration procedures, implementation of individualized health care plans, emergency action plans, and health-related program requirements in accordance with agency procedures and applicable regulations. 10.Ensure medication authorizations, physician instructions, emergency action plans, individualized health care plans, and related health documentation remain current and compliant. 11.Collaborate with medical providers, contracted nursing professionals, and agency leadership regarding complex medical needs, specialized health concerns, and emergency care procedures as appropriate. 12.Support implementation and monitoring of health-related accommodations for enrolled children as appropriate. FAMILY & COMPREHENSIVE SERVICES COORDINATION 13.Collaborate with Family Coaches regarding family follow-up needs, health concerns, referrals, and support services related to child health requirements. 14.Support families in understanding health requirements, physician recommendations, medication procedures, emergency care plans, and community health resources as appropriate. 15.Coordinate with Mental Health and Development Staff, Disabilities Staff, Nutrition Staff, Education Staff, and other content area staff to support integrated service delivery for children and families. 16.Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, case staff meetings, transition planning activities, and collaborative service planning meetings as assigned. 17.Assist with community referrals and coordination of services related to child health and wellness needs. DATA SYSTEMS & DOCUMENTATION 18.Maintain accurate, complete, and timely documentation within the agency’s GoEngage data management system and other required agency systems. 19.Monitor health-related data, reports, tracking systems, and documentation to support ongoing compliance and program operations. 20.Maintain organized and compliant health documentation in accordance with HSPPS, licensing requirements, agency procedures, and monitoring expectations. 21.Prepare reports, documentation, and data as required for monitoring reviews, audits, ongoing operations, and federal reporting requirements. 22.Maintain confidentiality and appropriate documentation practices in accordance with agency policies, HIPAA/confidentiality expectations, and applicable regulations. COLLABORATION & TEAM PARTICIPATION 23.Collaborate with Health leadership and Family Coaches regarding implementation of integrated family and health services. 24.Provide technical assistance and ongoing support to Family Coaches and center staff regarding health procedures, timelines, documentation requirements, and compliance expectations. 25.Collaborate with Education Staff, Mental Health and Development Staff, Disabilities Staff, Nutrition Staff, and community partners regarding child and family support needs. 26.Support implementation and coordination of Mental Health and Health Services Advisory Committee (MHHSAC) activities, including preparation, documentation, community collaboration, and follow-up activities as assigned. 27.Participate in assigned local, regional, and national training activities and professional development opportunities. 28.Maintain ongoing communication with supervisors regarding health concerns, operational barriers, compliance issues, and programmatic needs impacting service delivery. 29.Provide and/or coordinate annual and ongoing staff training related to medication administration procedures, emergency health procedures, individualized health care plans, biohazard procedures, bloodborne pathogens, communicable diseases, and other health and safety requirements in accordance with HSPPS, licensing regulations, and agency procedures in coordination with the Assistant Director of Health, Mental Health & Nutrition. COMPLIANCE & PROFESSIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES 30.Become thoroughly familiar with Head Start Program Performance Standards (HSPPS), licensing requirements, medication administration procedures, agency policies, and health-related program expectations. 31.Practice sound professional judgment when handling confidential health-related information and sensitive situations. 32.Demonstrate professionalism, responsiveness, and respect when interacting with children, families, staff, medical providers, and community partners. 33.Maintain regular and punctual attendance in accordance with agency policies and procedures. 34.Utilize personal vehicle for work-related activities as needed. 35.Perform additional duties as assigned. Requirements:Required Education: One of the following:•Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN); OR •Certified Medical Assistant (CMA/RMA) with demonstrated experience in pediatric health services, medication administration coordination, and interpretation of medical documentation; OR •Associate Degree in Health Science, Health Services, Public Health, Nursing, or related health field with relevant experience in health services coordination and compliance monitoring.Preferred Education:•Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) •Head Start Programs experience •Pediatric or early childhood health experience •Experience with individualized health care plans and medication administration procedures Required Experience:Experience in health services, pediatric services, school health, early childhood health coordination, medical office operations, or related health settings.Preferred Experience:Experience working with children and families in Head Start, ECE, school health, public health, or community health settings.Experience with compliance monitoring, medication administration procedures, interpretation of physician documentation, and health-related data tracking systems.
