Job Description POSITION: Branch Executive Director DEPARTMENT: Piscataway Branch SUPERVISOR: Vice President of Operations and Branch Leadership CLASSIFICATION: Exempt JOB CODE: 00300 POSITION PURPOSE: The Branch Executive Director, under the leadership of the VP of Operations, will direct the operation of the branch including membership, program, facility and community engagement, while ensuring the Y is a place for all and is delivering a robust, diverse portfolio of programs and services to the community. The Executive Director will provide daily support to their team members and offer ongoing leadership, motivation, and development. The incumbent will be responsible for the following: • Development and delivery of quality branch services., • Ensure consistency with established YMCA policies., • Adhere to procedures and commitment to our mission., • Provide quality member experience serving the community., • Uphold and emulate the values of the YMCA., • Develop sustainable and meaningful community relationships., • Work in partnership with local agencies to deliver excellent services., • Participate in the development of staff and volunteer resources., • Work to build commitment and involvement in the YMCA and the community., • Provide leadership to overall branch operations, membership, community engagement and safety. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Responsible for the overall operation of a full-facility YMCA, supporting the strategic direction of the YMCA of Metuchen, Edison, Woodbridge and South Amboy. Responsible for the branch’s annual budget development and implementation, as well as ongoing monthly budget monitoring to meet or exceed budgeted targets. Provide leadership to branch growth through program expansion, member recruitment, retention, and ability to positively impact the community. Develop and direct high quality, relationship-based member engagement strategies. Model relationship-building skills in all interactions with staff, volunteers, members and the community. Foster a climate of innovation to develop member and community-focused programs which support the Y mission, goals and strategies. Facilitates and leads Township leadership engagement by organizing regular monthly check-ins and managing the group’s communication, development, and effectiveness. Applies principles similar to board governance to ensure alignment with organizational and Township goals. Lead branch annual support campaign and other fundraising activities. Additionally, the incumbent, in collaboration with the Director of Fund Development, will be responsible for increasing the annual goals both in dollars raised and volunteers recruited for the branch annual support campaign. Ensure revenue growth through a climate of innovation to develop member and community-focused programs which support the Y mission, goals and strategies and continuously support the needs of the community. Effectively supervise and develop branch staff and volunteers while building an exceptional culture to motivate them to achieve their personal and professional goals. Responsible for oversight of facility management and maintenance to ensure high quality facilities, grounds and equipment. Maintain required safety and training certifications, Emergency Action Plans, SDS Manuals, etc. in alignment with our Association and the Township of Piscataway’s culture of risk management and safety expectations. Participate in branch and Association-wide activities and initiatives as assigned. Performs other duties as assigned. REQUIREMENTS: • Bachelor’s degree in related field with 5-8 years of YMCA branch executive experience or equivalent combination of education and experience., • Extensive fiscal management experience with extensive experience in building and managing a budget., • Ability to direct total operations through development and supervision of staff, oversight and direction in program development and volunteer development., • Must have experience in developing community relationships and working with community partners., • Ability to lead a large, diverse team., • Ability to manage a complex building schedule., • Previous experience in financial and board development., • YMCA of the USA Multi-Team or Organizational Leader preferred., • Excellent communication skills. PHYSICAL REQURIEMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS: • Must be able to meet deadlines and handle oneself professionally during difficult situations., • Must be able to sit and walk for long periods of time., • Must be able to conduct presentations in front of groups of people., • Must be able to use a computer proficiently., • Must have a valid driver’s license without any major violations, as well as transportation available to visit all branch locations., • Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions., • Working conditions are normal for an office environment., • Work may require frequent weekend and evening work.
