Job Description Position Title: General Foreman Location: DFW Metroplex, TX (On-site) Employment Type: Full-Time Salary: $43.00 - $60.00 hourly Company Introduction This role is with a respected contractor that builds, maintains, and upgrades high-voltage transmission lines for major utilities across the region. Their crews are known for strong safety practices, technical excellence, and dependable performance in demanding outdoor environments. The work directly supports grid reliability and long-term infrastructure improvement. Role Overview The General Foreman Transmission provides top-level field leadership across multiple transmission crews. This role is responsible for safe, efficient, and high-quality execution of all transmission construction activities. Key duties include directing daily operations, managing crews and equipment, coordinating schedules, and enforcing all safety standards. As the main connection between field teams, project managers, and utility clients, the General Foreman ensures the work on the ground aligns with project objectives and client expectations. The ideal candidate brings: • Extensive experience with high-voltage transmission line installation, maintenance, and restoration, • Proven success managing large crews and complex field operations, • Strong organizational, communication, and leadership abilities, • Supervise and coordinate multiple crews engaged in transmission line construction and maintenance, • Plan and manage day-to-day project activities, ensuring efficient resource allocation and job sequencing, • Oversee energized and de-energized line work, including stringing, sagging, reconductoring, jumpers, and pole/tower construction, • Conduct and enforce safety briefings and strict compliance with OSHA and company standards, • Review and interpret drawings, prints, and work orders; ensure accurate, safe execution of project scope, • Monitor crew productivity, work quality, and adherence to project timelines and budgets, • Troubleshoot system issues and direct crews in safe, effective resolutions, • Ensure all tools, vehicles, and equipment are maintained and used properly, • Manage project documentation, reporting, and client communications, • Lead storm restoration response and mobilize crews as needed, • Outdoor field work in all types of weather, • Work at significant heights on poles and towers, • Exposure to energized electrical systems and high-risk environments, • Frequent travel to regional projects; storm response and emergency mobilization required, • 10+ years of recent field experience in transmission line construction and maintenance (69kV345kV), • Minimum 3+ years of direct supervisory experience leading line crews or serving as a foreman, • Proficiency in all aspects of line work: sagging, phasing, reconductoring, grounding, clearance/tagging, and induced voltage practices, • Demonstrated ability to oversee hot-stick and energized transmission work, • Valid drivers license; CDL required or ability to obtain within 60 days, • OSHA, CPR/First Aid, and rescue certifications (pole-top and bucket), • Ability to lift 50+ lbs, climb towers/poles, and work at heights in all weather conditions, • Availability for extended hours, weekends, holidays, and storm restoration travel, • Experience with lattice towers and steel pole transmission systems at 138kV345kV preferred, • Substation coordination experience and familiarity with transmission-to-substation interfaces preferred, • Proven ability to mentor and train apprentices and journeymen preferred, • Strong administrative and planning background (crew scheduling, materials, resource management) preferred, • Competitive salary based on experience, • Medical, dental, and vision insurance, • Company-paid life and long-term disability coverage, • 401(k) with employer match, • Paid holidays and PTO, • Ongoing high-voltage training and skills development, • Phone reimbursement or company-issued device, • Travel pay and per diem when working away from home
