Job DescriptionJob Title: Maintenance Technician Location: Jacksonville, Florida, 32216 Schedule: Monday - Friday 5:00am - 4:30pm Pay: $22.50/hour Position Summary We are seeking a hands-on Maintenance & Fabrication Technician to support facility operations, equipment upkeep, and fabrication projects. This role is ideal for someone with strong mechanical aptitude, familiarity with shop equipment, and a willingness to learn and grow in an industrial or manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities • Support the installation, upkeep, and repair of electrical systems, production equipment, and facility infrastructure., • Assist with the layout, installation, and modification of compressed air piping and related system components., • Perform welding and metal fabrication work, including cutting, grinding, fitting, and assembling components., • Manufacture custom fixtures, brackets, and components using manual mills, lathes, and other shop tools., • Participate in equipment upgrades, continuous improvement initiatives, and facility modification projects., • Provide general facility maintenance support, including light carpentry, painting, basic repairs, cleaning, and grounds maintenance., • Operate hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment safely and in compliance with company safety standards., • Maintain clean, organized, and safe workspaces in shops, maintenance areas, and storage locations., • Deliver tools, materials, and equipment to work areas or job sites as required., • Adhere strictly to safety policies, including PPE usage and lockout/tagout procedures., • Communicate progress, material requirements, and maintenance concerns clearly to leadership.Minimum Qualifications, • High school diploma or GED preferred., • Foundational knowledge of electrical or mechanical systems, or a demonstrated willingness to learn., • Ability to safely operate fabrication equipment such as welders, grinders, mills, and lathes., • Strong mechanical aptitude with solid troubleshooting and problem-solving skills., • Ability to read and follow written instructions, diagrams, and basic technical drawings., • Dependable, safety-conscious, and motivated to develop new technical skills., • Valid driver’s license, if required for the role.Preferred Skills & Experience, • Experience with MIG and/or TIG welding., • Hands-on experience operating manual milling machines or lathes., • Familiarity with industrial electrical systems or manufacturing equipment., • Knowledge of compressed air systems and pneumatic components. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Jacksonville, FL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.50 - $22.50/hr.
