Job will include a take home vehicle and gas card. Responsibilities • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair commercial and industrial HVAC systems, including multi-zone heating and cooling equipment., • Perform system startups, commissioning, preventive maintenance, and warranty service on HVAC and refrigeration equipment., • Inspect, test, and repair compressors, motors, fans, controls, and related components., • Service refrigeration, air conditioning, heating, ventilation, and humidity control systems., • Repair and maintain rooftop units (RTUs), split systems, and package units., • Perform electrical troubleshooting on controls, motors, contactors, relays, and transformers., • Carry out mechanical repairs on compressors, fans, belts, bearings, and pumps., • Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical specifications., • Troubleshoot HVAC controls and thermostats to ensure proper system operation., • Assist with HVAC and plumbing system installations as needed., • Complete service documentation accurately and efficiently for each service call., • Communicate professionally with customers, explain findings, and provide clear service recommendations., • Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with company quality standards and applicable codes., • Work both indoors and outdoors depending on job requirements and site conditions. Essential Skills • Minimum of 4 years of commercial HVAC experience., • Strong commercial HVAC troubleshooting and diagnostics skills., • Hands-on experience with repair and maintenance of rooftop units (RTUs), split systems, and package units., • Experience performing startup and commissioning of HVAC equipment., • Proficiency in preventive maintenance (PMs) for commercial HVAC systems., • Electrical troubleshooting skills for controls, motors, contactors, relays, and transformers., • Mechanical repair experience with compressors, fans, belts, bearings, and pumps., • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical documents., • Experience with HVAC controls and thermostat troubleshooting., • EPA Universal Certification., • Strong troubleshooting and mechanical aptitude., • Excellent customer service and communication skills., • Ability to work independently and manage service calls effectively., • Ability to pass a pre-employment screening and drug screening., • Authorization to work in the United States. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Boiler systems experience (preferred)., • Additional commercial HVAC or refrigeration experience beyond the minimum requirements., • HVAC installation experience, including support for new construction projects., • Basic plumbing knowledge related to HVAC systems, such as condensate piping and related connections. The role requires flexibility to work indoors in mechanical rooms or plant environments as well as outdoors on rooftops or construction sites, depending on the job. You should be prepared for varying weather conditions and typical mechanical trades attire suitable for field work, with appropriate safety gear as required. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lexington, KY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $40.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
