This position involves Machining large parts such as weldments, and castings where the material is inconsistent in size and shape and decision making on the machinists’ part is required with a strong background in blueprint reading/interpretation and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing. The perfect candidate would be one with a minimum 4 year apprenticeship in the trade or comparable technical school training, who learned the trade on manual machines in a job shop environment, and transitioned to enclosed CNC equipment, before becoming a large CNC horizontal boring mill operator 5” diameter spindle or larger, large CNC lathe operator machining parts in excess of 30” in diameter and 20’ in length, and large CNC vertical turning center operator with tables of 6’ in diameter or larger.
