American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN PACU - Post Anesthesia Care for a travel nursing job in St. Louis, Missouri. • Specialty: PACU - Post Anesthesia Care, • Discipline: RN, • Start Date: ASAP, • Duration: 13 weeks, • 40 hours per week, • Shift: 10 hours, days, • Employment Type: Travel American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a PACU position at a Level I Trauma Center requiring critical care skills and a MO or compact state license. • Position is within a PACU unit in a short-term acute care, Magnet and teaching hospital, • Patient population includes adults, occasional adolescents, and geriatric patients recovering from various surgical procedures, • Unit handles post-op recovery for neurosurgery, ENT, plastics, orthopedics, thoracic, vascular, trauma, general surgery, colorectal, GYN, urological, electrophysiology, interventional radiology, and transplant patients, • No recovery of open heart surgeries or liver transplants, • 38 patient bays with an average daily census of 70-90, • Day shift, 4x10 hour shifts (Monday–Friday), with rotating start times as needed, • No weekend or on-call shifts required, • Floating required to PACU or PreOp units only, • EPIC charting system is used and experience is required, • Navy blue scrubs required, • Main responsibilities include recovering a broad range of post-op surgical patients, including those with artificial airways and invasive monitoring, • Support provided by dedicated PCT/transport team, • All staff required to float only within the service line for PACU and PreOp as needed, • Fit testing required; facial hair must not interfere with fit testing, • No more than 7 days of requested time off allowed per 13-week contract; no time off permitted during the first week, • Permanent employees must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler, • Standard travelers may stay for up to 18 months, followed by a required 3-month break, • Parking available for $15/day or $70/month, • Active MO or compact RN license required, • Minimum 2 years of recent critical care and Phase I PACU experience, • Required certifications: BLS and ACLS, • Experience with Level I Trauma Center operations, • Skills in dysrhythmia recognition and management, blood product administration, phlebotomy, IV starts, IV vasopressors, ICP monitoring, and care of ventilated patients, • EPIC charting experience required, • Must reside at least 75 miles from the facility (no local candidates), • First-time travelers are accepted, • High Pay and Bonuses, • Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options, • 401(k) Plan, • Weekly Payroll Deposit, • Free Online CEUs, • Generous Housing Allowance, • Travel and Licensure Reimbursements, • Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy, • Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID #P-635471.
