Job DescriptionDescription: As the Dean of Faculty, you will be at the forefront of our institution, responsible for overseeing academic programs, supporting faculty development, and ensuring the delivery of exceptional educational experiences. Join our esteemed team and make a lasting impact on the future of education. Position Overview: We seek a visionary and experienced Dean of Faculty to join our institution. In this pivotal role, you will lead the academic department, set strategic goals, and ensure the highest standards of educational excellence are upheld across all programs. As a key member of our leadership team, you will play a critical role in shaping the future direction of our institution. Responsibilities: Student Retention and Satisfaction • Completion - All programs exceed the minimum accreditation (NACCAS 50 % or COE 60%) benchmark completion annually., • Employment – Partner with Career Services to ensure all programs exceed a minimum of 70% placement annually., • Exam Pass Rate (Licensure), as applicable – All programs exceed a minimum of 70% exam pass rate annually, with 90% of graduates successfully passing exams., • Quality Graduates – Ensures faculty are preparing graduates to be career-minded and career-ready to achieve placement goals in all programs., • Support, communicate, and model the concepts taught in the curriculum to ensure students are embracing the processes that will aid them in their future success at Milan, their career, and professional life., • Partner with Career Services regarding any student issues or concerns prior to and during externship. Students are Education’s responsibility through externship., • Facility – Ensure the classrooms, hallways, restrooms, and breakrooms are clean and “customer-friendly”., • Maintain faculty through interviewing and hiring, as well as holding faculty accountable through coaching, developing, and terminating., • Train all faculty on policy and procedures using the faculty manual and/or policies and procedures as a guideline as well as any other company tools., • Monitor faculty’s progress to ensure the successful completion of training prior to or by the established deadline., • Provide all new faculty safety training within the first two weeks of employment., • Ensure all classes are taught by qualified and effective instructors both on campus and virtually., • Ensure all faculty follows through with campus and company policies, procedures, and initiatives., • Instructor Observations – Observe all faculty a minimum of six (6) times per year - one observation every other month. Meet with the instructor within 24-48 hours to review observation, provide feedback, guidance, and coaching. Ensure faculty member signs and dates the observations and is provided a copy. Upload the Observation Form to the appropriate location., • Instructor Performance – Validate instructors are teaching the prescribed curriculum by observing the instructor to ensure that lesson plans are followed. In addition, ensure distance education expectations are followed, providing students with an engaging and productive educational experience on campus and during distance education., • Facilitate faculty meetings at least once per month with an agenda (following prescribed guidelines), minutes, and, sign-in sheet., • Ensure that each instructor completes two (2) Employer Site visits per year following policy guidelines., • Ensure curriculum is followed and new updates are rolled out successfully, • Ensure classroom equipment is adequate, in good working order, and in proper quantities to meet the needs of students., • Ensure that necessary classroom supplies to meet curriculum requirements are communicated consistently, and classroom inventory is managed effectively., • Staff Development and Training – Assure that each instructor receives new hire instructor training following the New Hire Checklist, regularly attends staff meetings, completes 12 hours of continuing education/professional development annually., • Staff Retention – Maintain a stable instructional staff to positively impact student retention. Recognize, encourage, and celebrate faculty achievements. Treat each faculty member fairly and consistently with respect and dignity. Voluntary faculty attrition should be no more than 20% per year., • Employee Evaluations – At the minimum 90% of Employee Annual Evaluations must be completed, provided to the employee, and submitted to HR by the due date., • Ensure all HR polices are followed in a timely manner, including New Hire paper, account setup, background checks, and termination process., • Participate/contribute to campus staff and management meetings, Education Leader Conference Calls, and monthly accreditation meetings., • Partner with Campus Director to execute COE Occupational Advisory Committee Meetings (one per year) and an Institutional Advisory Committee Meeting (one per year) or NACCAS Advisory Board Meeting (one per year)., • Prepare and submit monthly Completion Projection Report per the required distribution schedule, • Consistently execute HR policies and procedures, including all requirements related to payroll, terminations, and hiring., • Cooperate with all departments to ensure transparency and effective communication., • High school diploma or equivalent is required., • Minimum of 3 years experience in academic administration or instructional capacity, preferably at a post-secondary educational institution., • Cosmetology or related programs license preferred, • Teaching experience preferred, • Excellent Communication Skills: Both verbal and written communication are essential. The ability to convey information clearly and effectively to students, faculty, and staff is crucial., • Passion for Student Success: A genuine interest in seeing students thrive and succeed academically., • Organizational Skills: The capability to manage multiple projects simultaneously through effective time management., • Customer Service Focus: Continuously maintaining a customer-centered approach, ensuring students', faculty, and staff needs are met., • Results-Oriented: Having a focus on achieving goals and delivering outcomes, with strong follow-through on tasks and projects., • Integrity: Maintaining ethical principles and professional standards in all actions and decisions., • Adherence to Core Values: Aligning with the institution's core values, such as accountability, integrity, growth, service, and communication., • Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook for tasks such as report generation, email communication, and spreadsheet management., • Adaptability to Technology: Being open and willing to learn new software and systems specific to the educational environment, such as Learning Management Systems and Student Information Systems., • Ability to Coach and Guide Faculty: Supporting and mentoring faculty to ensure proper polices and procedures are being followed as well as ensuring implementation and utilization of dynamic and engaging instructional strategies.
