Job Description The Center for Youth: Started BY YOUTH FOR YOUTH. We partner with youth to realize their full potential, by creating opportunities, removing barriers and promoting social justice. Overview: During a crisis, such as an accident, sudden illness, or housing emergency, a caregiver can bring their children to the Crisis Nursery or Owen House. Staff provides free, temporary, professional care to birth to 14 years old. The Assistant Manager is responsible for the operation and programming to provide a caring living environment for the children and families being served. Schedule: Full time, 37.5 hours per week. Monday- Friday 8am- 4pm. Flexibility is required for weekend and evening hours. Location: Owen's House Responsibilities: • Supervision of staff and volunteers, • Selection, orientation, training and mentoring childcare staff, • Scheduling and payroll verification, • Coordination and facilitation of family referrals and aftercare, • After hours intake, assessment, information, and referral, • Assist in development and supervision of social and recreational activities for residents, • Operations duties as assigned, ie. Foodlink orders, shopping, inventory, etc., • Excellent communication, organizational and time management, • Program management and supervisory methods and techniques, • Strong problem-solving skills, • Crisis intervention, case management, advocacy, and strength-based problem solving and decision-making models, • Knowledge of community resources, • Knowledge of adolescent development including positive youth development, asset development, risk reduction and protective factors, • Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Office Pay Rate: $22- $25 per hour The Center for Youth Provides Equal Employment Opportunities
