This role partners closely with the Employee Service Center, Recruiting, Onboarding, HRIS, and HR Business Partner teams to ensure a smooth, positive experience for candidates and new hires. The HR Generalist also manages a wide range of HR processes, including employee records, status changes, compliance documentation, and general employee support., • This position operates in a hybrid work environment, requiring at least two days per week onsite to deliver in-person assistance to applicants, new hires, and current employees., • Essential Responsibilities, • Recruiting & Onboarding Support, • · Assist applicants and new hires in person during onsite recruiting and onboarding activities., • · Prepare and process onboarding documentation, background checks, and new-hire paperwork., • · Support orientation logistics and ensure a welcoming, organized experience for new employees., • HR Administration & Employee Life Cycle, • · Maintain accurate and confidential employee records in HRIS and personnel files., • · Process employee life-cycle transactions, including promotions, transfers, separations, and status changes., • · Ensure compliance with organizational policies, employment laws, and documentation standards., • · Respond to employee inquiries regarding HR policies, benefits, and general HR processes., • · Support HR audits, reporting, and data integrity initiatives., • · Collaborate with HR team members to improve processes and enhance the employee experience., • Employee & Applicant Support, • · Provide in-person assistance to employees and applicants at least two days per week., • · Serve as a friendly, knowledgeable point of contact for HR-related questions., • · Partners with the Employee Service Center to help employees navigate forms, systems, and HR procedures., • Qualifications, • · Experience in HR administration, recruiting support, or a related HR function., • · Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities., • · Excellent communication and customer-service orientation., • · Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with professionalism., • · Familiarity with UKG HRIS systems and standard HR documentation practices., • · Commitment to Relay Resources’ mission and values, including equity, inclusion, and accessibility., • Work Environment, • This role follows a hybrid schedule, combining remote work with required onsite presence. The HR Generalist must be available to work in person at the Relay Resources Headquarters in Portland, Oregon, for a minimum of two days per week to support applicants and employees., • Requirements, • · 3–5 years of progressive HR experience, preferably in a generalist capacity., • Bilingual - English/Spanish, • · In-depth knowledge of HR best practices, policies, and employment law., • · Strong analytical, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills., • · Proficiency in MS Office Suite; HRIS experience required (UKG strongly preferred)., • · Excellent written and verbal communication skills., • · Proven ability to handle confidential matters with discretion., • · Experience supporting or working with people with disabilities., • · Demonstrated ability to partner across multiple HR functions., • · Strong knowledge of HR compliance, employee relations, and HR operations., • · Experience building relationships and influencing without direct authority., • · Ability to manage sensitive information with discretion and professionalism., • Preferred Qualifications, • · HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP, or equivalent) or willingness to obtain within 12 months., • · Experience in a unionized environment and with CBAs., • · Nonprofit or mission-driven organization experience., • · Equivalent combination of education and relevant HR experience may also be considered as meeting qualification requirements., • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities, • · Knowledge of Disability Inclusion principles and best practices, • · Business Partner Mindset: Treats HR as an internal client, driving results through partnership., • · Collaboration: Works across multiple HR verticals with flexibility and diplomacy., • · Problem-Solving: Identifies operational gaps and develops practical solutions., • · Communication: Clear, direct, and professional, able to Human Resources strategy into day-to-day execution., • Scope and Accountability, • · Accountability: Ensures deadlines, compliance, and consistency within the HR team., • · Operates independently on most assignments, exercising significant judgment and discretion., • · Accountable for delivering accurate, timely, and compliant HR services while supporting organizational strategy.
