Order parts as needed. · Repair and/or replace all components of diesel engines, hydraulic, air conditioning, electrical, and suspension systems, drive trains, steering, braking, material handling, operator comfort systems, and other functions as necessary to bring the machine up to operating status. · Update the manager and customer on any obstacles during the repair process. · Assist service manager in properly billing customers. · Report back to the service manager any issues with a customer that are prohibiting our ability to provide world-class services. · Develop trust and rapport with customers and assist in resolving customer complaints. · Read, analyze, and interpret technical information from schematics, technical manuals, drawings and procedures, and governmental regulations. · Keep the service manager informed on special parts orders, shortages, and malfunctions. · Complete all work orders (including warranty information) and time sheets in a legible, accurate, and timely manner. · Maintain a current knowledge of products, technology, and models by participating in educational opportunities and reading technical and regulatory publications. · Keep service vehicles clean and serviced. · Help control expenses and produce as much quality work as possible. · Maintain a safe working environment and adhere to the company safety program at all times. · Other work-related functions as assigned by management.
