Job DescriptionMid Level Civil Infrastructure Engineer - Shape the Future of Water Phoenix, AZ Design the systems that keep communities running You’re a civil or environmental engineer who wants your work to matter—really matter. Here, every pipeline, pump station, and treatment facility you touch protects public health and supports growing communities. You’ll help deliver complex water and wastewater infrastructure projects while learning directly from some of the most experienced water professionals in the industry. You’ll have a hand in managing budgets, schedules, and quality, building client relationships, and mentoring junior staff as you grow into a trusted project leader. What You'll Work On You’ll support and help lead multi-disciplinary projects across the water and wastewater infrastructure space, including: • Water infrastructure planning and design, • Wastewater collection and treatment facilities, • Stormwater and reuse infrastructure, • Pipelines, pump stations, and related civil works, • Hydraulic modeling and system capacity evaluations, • Data analysis and facility sizing/calculations, • Multi-discipline coordination (civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, I&C), • Client-facing technical and project delivery work You’ll work alongside environmental, civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation/controls engineers, as well as drafters, technicians, and technical experts. Your challenge: deliver high-quality water infrastructure solutions while balancing budget, schedule, and stakeholder expectations. What You'll Be Doing • Deliver and help manage water and wastewater infrastructure projects with shared responsibility for budget, schedule, contracts, and quality standards, • Ensure high-quality technical work within defined budget and schedule constraints, • Assist with coordinating and overseeing sub-consultant work, • Serve as project manager on small to medium projects, taking on full PM responsibilities, • Support project managers in planning, scheduling, coordinating, supervising, and reviewing the work of multi-discipline project teams, • Perform data analysis, system modeling, and hydraulic calculations to size and select facilities, • Contribute to effective communication among project teams, clients, partners, and stakeholders, • Develop and maintain relationships with clients, particularly at the staff level, • Assist in preparing proposals, including scopes of work and engineering fee estimates, • Provide on-the-job training and mentoring to project staff and entry-level engineers, • Participate actively in project meetings and technical discussions, • Apply critical thinking and innovative approaches to solving technical infrastructure challengesWhat We're Looking For, • Degree in civil, environmental, or related engineering field, • Registration as a Professional Engineer, • Ability to apply critical thinking, analysis, and innovative techniques to solve technical problems, • Strong verbal and written communication skills, • Ability to communicate effectively with clients and project teams, • Proven ability to work well in a team environment, • Highly motivated, self-starting mindset, • Active involvement in professional associations, including attendance and participation in local, regional, or national conferences, • Proficiency with MS Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint, • Master’s degree in a related engineering field (preferred)The Experience That Will Really Get Our Attention You’ve already cut your teeth on water or wastewater infrastructure projects and are ready to step more fully into project management.
