Job Description Job Description: Isaac Heating & Air Conditioning is seeking a Commercial Operations Manager to oversee Commercial HVAC & Plumbing Operations in their Syracuse, NY location. This position will support the Commercial Install Manager, Commercial Service Manager, and Area General Manager in overseeing all service, maintenance, and new construction projects for Commercial HVAC and Plumbing Systems. This hands-on leadership role balances field supervision, project coordination, customer relations, and team development, while ensuring safety, quality, profitability, and on-time delivery. Responsibilities: • Project oversight and execution, • Assist in planning, scheduling, and executing commercial HVAC/plumbing service calls, PM contracts, and new construction installations, • Monitor job progress, labor hours, material usage, and change-order opportunities, • Conduct regular site walks to verify Safety compliance and quality standards, • Provide leadership and guidance field technicians, plumbers, and apprentices across service and construction crews, • Oversight of daily work orders, dispatch emergency calls, and adjust crews based on workload, • Mentor junior techs; enforce apprenticeship ratios and training plans, • Perform ride-along and spot-check installations (brazing, piping, ductwork, controls, start-up), • Serve as secondary point of contact for key commercial accounts (hospitals, data centers, schools, office towers), • Respond to service escalations and coordinate 24/7 emergency response, • Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers for pricing and lead times, • Track job costs vs. budget; flag potential overruns early, • Approve timecards, expense reports, and material POs, • Assist in monthly P&L review and WIP reporting, • Update ServiceTitan (or equivalent) with job notes, photos, and close-out docs, • Enforce OSHA 10/30, EPA 608, fall protection, and confined-space protocol, • Ensure weekly toolbox talks are being held and monthly safety audits, • Identify upsell opportunities during service calls (retrofits, IAQ upgrades, DDC controls), • Assist in bid walks, take-offs, and proposal prep for projects $50K–$2M Job Qualifications: • Minimum High School diploma or equivalent required, • Valid Driver's License required, • 5+ years of experience in commercial HVAC/plumbing, with at least 2 years in a lead/supervisory role, • Coursework or experience related to HVAC, plumbing, or construction management preferred Competencies: • Strong mechanical aptitude (chillers, VRF, hydronics, sanitary/waste systems), • Excellent communicator—able to explain technical issues to non-technical clients, • Data-driven: comfortable with Excel dashboards, labor forecasting, and margin analysis, • Regularly lift up to 50lbs, climb ladders, work in mechanical rooms, on rooftops, and in confined spaces, • Tolerate extreme temperatures and noise levels typical of construction sites What can we offer you? • Competitive base pay, • Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance, • 401k retirement plan with company match, • Paid Vacation and Sick Time The starting base salary range for this position is $85,000 - 95,000 annually. This is the range of the base pay only, it does not include other components that make up the total compensation package of the position. If offered a position, your total compensation package will be determined by experience, location, skills, and/or education, which may result in a total compensation package that falls outside of the provided range.
