Job Description Job Title: Modular Trailer Assembler Job Description The Service Technician prepares, maintains, and services mobile units and their furnishings to ensure they are safe, functional, and ready for delivery. This role follows daily work orders, performs repairs using hand and power tools, and supports basic grounds maintenance while consistently documenting work and prioritizing safety. Responsibilities • Review and follow daily work instructions and work orders to plan and organize tasks for the day., • Prepare trailers and units for delivery, ensuring they are clean, functional, and properly set up., • Perform routine maintenance on units and furniture to keep them in good working condition., • Load and unload furniture and materials onto and from units and trailers in a safe and efficient manner., • Use hand and power tools to complete repairs, adjustments, and general servicing of units and related components., • Carry out basic grounds maintenance as needed to support overall facility upkeep., • Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with units, furniture, or equipment, identifying root causes and appropriate solutions., • Document all work performed throughout the day with high attention to detail, including maintenance, repairs, and inspections., • Report issues, defects, or safety concerns promptly to the appropriate parties., • Follow all safety procedures and maintain a strong safety mindset throughout the workday., • Lift and move materials and equipment weighing 50 pounds or more as required by daily tasks., • Work both inside the warehouse and outdoors to support loading, unloading, and preparation of units and trailers. Essential Skills • 1–3 years of construction experience or closely related hands-on experience., • Mechanical aptitude with the ability to diagnose and address basic mechanical issues., • Proficiency using hand tools and power tools for repairs, assembly, and maintenance tasks., • Ability to read and interpret work orders and follow detailed instructions., • Strong attention to detail with accurate documentation of work performed., • Ability to lift 50 pounds or more safely and repeatedly as part of daily duties., • Reliability and consistency in following safety procedures and maintaining a safety-first mindset., • Steel-toe footwear (steel-toe boots or shoes) as required personal protective equipment. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Experience in production, assembly, or carpentry environments., • Experience working with hand tools and power tools in a production or construction setting., • Comfort working in a fast-paced, hands-on role involving loading, unloading, and physical tasks., • Ability to work both independently and as part of a production team., • Strong communication skills to effectively report issues and collaborate with coworkers., • Organizational skills to manage multiple work orders and tasks throughout the day. Work Environment This role is based in a non-climate-controlled production environment with approximately 25–35 team members. Work takes place both inside the warehouse and outdoors in the elements while loading and unloading trailers and units. The standard schedule is Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with occasional work extending as late as 5:00 p.m. and Saturdays being rare. Steel-toe footwear is required at all times, and the company supplies uniforms upon permanent hire. The environment is hands-on, active, and production-focused, with regular use of hand and power tools and frequent movement in and out of the warehouse Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Irving, TX. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
