    What’s the Sauce? is looking for a driven, hands-on Head Chef / Culinary Lead to help perfect our menu, streamline kitchen operations, and set the foundation for a scalable food business built on quality, transparency, and flavor. This is a part-time role (one day of operations per week to start) and is ideal for a junior chef or qualified culinary professional with restaurant experience who’s looking to grow into something bigger. The right candidate will have the opportunity to evolve into an Executive Chef role, with potential partnership opportunities as the business scales. The Role You’ll work closely with the founders to refine recipes, improve consistency, and optimize kitchen execution. This role blends culinary creativity with operational discipline. We are offering an exciting opportunity for an After School Youth Program Food Service Assistant (006) at our Navy Yard Site located in Brooklyn, NY This is a part-time position working up to 25 hours a week Monday through Friday in the afternoon and evening. Essential Duties and Responsibilities for the After School Youth Program Food Service Assistant (006) Position: Practice personal hygiene and proper sanitation procedures. Turn on, test and monitor equipment at the beginning of the day. Food preparation according to written and oral instructions. Serve lunch, dinner and a la carte items. Monitor food and equipment temperatures at all times. Exhibit courtesy and understanding to club members. Demonstrate proper equipment operation skills. Set up and break down of serving areas. Receive, stock, and rotate incoming and outgoing inventory. Participate in formal and informal training. Demonstrate knowledge of sanitation practices. Exhibit the professional behavior of a reliable employee. Perform preparation duties for the next day. Maintain a neat, clean and safe work environment. Participate in special events for club members and community. Oversee daily club member cafeteria sign-in and handwashing practices. Perform dishwashing duties of cooking, serving and eating utensils tools. Required Skills/Knowledge for the After School Youth Program Food Service Assistant (006) Position: High school diploma or equivalent is required.     This position is GUEST FACING. We are on the hunt for an experienced line cook to join our talented team and help prepare meals according to our standard recipes. This position is a hybrid position in which you will also work in the back of house prepping for service on some days. Your principal goal will be to prepare high-quality meals that meet the chef’s exact specifications. This position is customer facing and you will be taking orders and fulfilling them. The ideal candidate is high energy, friendly, and loves engaging with customers. You will be responsible for setting up the prep station, stocking inventory, and maintaining sanitation standards. To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and multi-tasking skills. Ultimately, you will play an essential role in contributing to our customer satisfaction and restaurant growth. Line Cook Responsibilities: Ensuring the preparation station and the kitchen are set up and stocked. Preparing simple components of each dish on the menu by chopping vegetables, cutting meat, and preparing sauces. Reporting to the executive chef and following instructions. Making sure food preparation and storage areas meet health and safety standards. Cleaning prep areas and taking care of leftovers. Stocking inventory and supplies. Cooking menu items with the support of the kitchen staff.
