About the Role We are seeking a highly motivated and energetic Retail Representative who shares our passion for providing quality products and an excellent customer experience. The Retail Representative works closely and collaboratively with store leadership and reports to the General Manager. This role is responsible for providing customers with exceptional service by meeting individual needs, exceeding expectations, and demonstrating excellent knowledge of the cannabis products, deals, and promotions we offer. Colorado MED Badge Requirement Working at a licensed cannabis dispensary in Colorado requires all employees to hold a valid Colorado Marijuana Enforcement Division (MED) Employee License, commonly referred to as a "MED Badge." This is a mandatory state requirement and is non-negotiable for employment. • All candidates must obtain a Colorado MED Employee License prior to their first day of work, or provide proof of a Conditional Employee License (which allows work while a full background check is being processed), • The MED Badge requires a fingerprint-based background check conducted through the Colorado Marijuana Enforcement Division, • The MED Employee License application fee is $100.00 and is the responsibility of the applicant, • MED Badges are valid for two (2) years and must be renewed before expiration, • Applicants must be at least 21 years of age and must not have been convicted of a felony within the three (3) years immediately preceding their application, • Applicants must not be subject to a current sentence for a felony conviction, including probation, parole, or deferred judgment, • Applicants who are law enforcement officers, prosecuting officers, or employees of the Colorado Marijuana Enforcement Division or a local licensing authority are not eligible For more information or to begin your MED Badge application, visit: med.colorado.gov/employee-license-application Job Duties • Assesses the needs of each customer, provides appropriate product knowledge, and conducts each transaction with accuracy and efficiency, • Ability to use suggestive selling strategies and must be able and willing to upsell all customers, • Ability to take constructive criticism and be coached by upper management, • Assist with inventory tasks when needed, • Works scheduled shifts and follows the company's attendance policy, • Follows all safety and MED (Marijuana Enforcement Division) rules and policies in compliance with Colorado state regulations, • Promoting the perks of being a JARS customer (Loyalty Program, Referrals, etc.), • Records transactions accurately in the POS system, uses appropriate login, and ensures the accuracy of assigned cash drawer, • Performs opening and closing duties as needed, • Escalates customer issues to upper management when appropriate, • Maintains a positive, caring attitude, and treats both customers and co-workers with respect, • Maintains neatness, cleanliness, and organization of the sales floor, • Fills in when short-staffed and is willing to be cross-trained, • Follows and integrates JARS company policies and procedures with on-the-job interactions, tasks, and behaviors, • Listens and responds to customer and coworker needs/requests appropriately and in a timely manner Requirements • Must be 21 years of age or older, • High school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) required, • Must obtain and maintain a valid Colorado MED Employee License (MED Badge) prior to the start date - see MED Badge section above for details, • Must successfully pass the MED's fingerprint-based background check, • Minimum 2 years of customer service experience in a retail, sales, and/or hospitality environment, • Acquired knowledge of cannabis strains and applications, • Cannabis industry and/or health industry experience highly desirable, • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills, • Basic math skills required Work Atmosphere/Physical Demands • Requires prolonged standing and some bending, stooping, and stretching, • Ability to operate a computer, POS system, and other office equipment, • Moving up to 30 pounds on occasion, • Work will generally be performed in a fast-paced retail cannabis dispensary, • Involves frequent contact with customers and staff, • Will require working varied hours/day, including nights, weekends, holidays, and/or events on occasion Why JARS Cannabis?
