Parker Meggitt (Securaplane) a recent addition to Parker Hannifin, is a global leader in the Commercial and Military Aerospace markets, specializing in a wide range of products including fire and smoke detection systems, extinguishing systems, bleed air overheat detection systems, actuators, rudder pedal assemblies, pumps, fuel gauging systems, and high-temperature cables. Located in Oro Valley, AZ, this site is within the Fire Safety & Power Systems Division (FSPSD) and is a key supplier of camera systems, energy storage products, and security systems in aerospace markets. We work directly with some of the largest aerospace companies in the world, including Airbus, Boeing, Gulfstream, Bombardier, Embraer, and Textron, among others Quality Inspector 2 Position Summary The Quality Inspector 2 inspects a range of components, parts and/or products for the area assigned as prescribed by all applicable specifications and quality assurance instructions. Scope/ Supervision and Interaction ☐ Has Direct Reports ☒ Does Not Have Direct Reports Responsibilities \n • Conducts examinations and quality control inspections on products, materials and components at various stages of the production process to ensure compliance with established quality and reliability standards\n, • Participates in gathering statistical data from product and processes\n, • Performs visual inspections of soldered connections, mechanical inspections of electronic and electro- mechanical assemblies and subassemblies\n, • Visual inspections of soldered assemblies to IPC-A-610 Class 3 standards, and harness assemblies.\n, • Prepares and completes all necessary documentation for reporting acceptance/rejection of inspected and/or tested items\n, • Identifies design, process or other inefficiencies and reports quality concerns and issues\n, • Performs routine quality inspections on engineering designs, assemblies, piece parts, final assemblies and tooling\n, • Read, write and understand English.\n, • Read technical drawings with multiple views.\n, • Locate and utilize correct part, assembly, and material specifications or drawings.\n, • Use tolerances and dimensions to required accuracy and precision.\n, • Prepare certifications in accordance with appropriate regulation.\n, • Filing of both hard copy and electronic records\n, • Other responsibilities as assigned\n, • Approximately 90% sitting and 10% standing/walking indoors.\n, • Perform continuous uninterrupted visual inspections, with and without magnifying devices.\n, • Use hand tools, measuring devices, and magnifying devices (e.g. gauges, calipers, rulers.)\n, • Perform major hand grasping and fine finger manipulations using both hands.\n, • Perform repeated lifting from floor, table and shelf.\n, • Push and pull carts or mobile tables, loaded and unloaded.\n, • Minimal heavy lifting from floor or higher, bending, twisting, climbing, lifting arms above shoulders, kneeling\n, • Minimal exposure to excessive noise, hazardous chemicals, hazardous equipment, uneven walking surfaces\n, • Must be able to lift minimum of 25 lbs.\n, • Ability to follow established job instructions and procedures with minimal supervision\n, • Able to apply a systematic QA approach while using existing procedures to solve a range of technical issues\n, • Skilled at measuring and using test equipment as prescribed by job assignment\n, • Must have intricate knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, assembly drawings, parts lists, workmanship standards, standard inspection procedures, M.O.'s, wiring diagrams and be able to add tolerances using decimals, etc.\n, • Must be able to interpret and follow written and verbal instructions, including engineering drawings, charts, diagrams, and sketches\n, • Able and willing to comply with Drug-Free Workplace policies and pass all related drug/alcohol screenings\n, • Proficient computer skills\n, • \nEducation: A Secondary Certificate/High School Diploma or equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectations.\n, • \nCertifications: Vocational training, apprenticeships or the equivalent experience in related field\n Come join the Parker Aerospace Team!
