Horizon Organic is seeking a Maintenance Manager to oversee our maintenance processes in our Salt Lake City Plant. The Maintenance Manager will be responsible for maintenance management at the food manufacturing plant with a focus on predictive/preventive maintenance and machine reliability. The Maintenance Manager is responsible for planned maintenance pillar activities and provides leadership and guidance to his team on a 24/7 basis. The Maintenance Manager is responsible for developing planned maintenance strategies that support safety, people engagement, quality, cost, reliability and continuous improvement initiatives. The Maintenance Manager focus is to ensure all equipment performs in the highest efficiency, with minimal unplanned down time to sustain acceptable plant performance efficiency (PE). About the Job: Leadership / Management • Manages site maintenance team., • Provides positive role models for all plant personnel in safety, quality and productivity, • Provides guidance, instruction and mentoring for the maintenance staff., • Provides periodic feedback to employees in the areas of job knowledge, performance and development., • Providing and organizing training where needed to improve employee skills is critical to the success of the business., • Manages employee overtime and equipment reliability to achieve lowest maintenance costs for the plant., • Responsible for resolving maintenance employee relations issues., • Provide support and leadership to address repetitive problems to root cause, spend time on the floor to understand the problems and collect data., • Provide strong leadership to properly drive the accomplishment of the Preventive Maintenance program for the packaging equipment., • Responsible to track the Performance Efficiency (PE) for the plant and providing the support needed to proactively make changes when performance is not achieved., • Ensure his team is fully staffed and reorganize the team when needed according to business needs. Maintenance • Directs maintenance prioritization, planning and execution for the site., • Prepares facility maintenance and maintenance projects between contractors and maintenance., • Manages maintenance schedulers in scheduling of work, developing and setting objectives, monitoring of progress, and the evaluation of results., • Analyses problems and/or trends in plant maintenance and recommends appropriate resolutions to minimize production downtime for all areas of the plant., • Staff directs staff activities to provide quality, cost-effective support for all electrical, mechanical, information, and process control systems while assuring compliance with Sarbanes Oxley., • Evaluates major sources of machine downtime and creates action plans to improve machine efficiency and reliability., • Communicates with the operating departments to maintain system awareness and identify opportunities and provide technical expertise for optimization of process control systems., • Responsible for Wastewater treatment plant., • Coordinate team meetings to collectively develop a RC-PS to address repetitive problems., • Consider having time flexibility for days, nights and weekends if needed when business KPI’s are compromised due to equipment reliability issues., • Provide supportive leadership to drive positive culture in regards of Safety, Quality and Productivity., • Strong ability to communicate with the teams across the plant., • Demonstrate positive Leadership and understanding about company policies and reinforcement and alignment with CBA policies and rules., • Ensure the Equipment Interventions (Yellow card process) is followed 100% of the time to avoid micro risks., • Demonstrate strong ability to develop and sustain multifunctional cross training to all hourly employees, including evaluations to identify skills opportunities and develop training plans. Safety / Environmental / Compliance • Leads the safety effort for the maintenance team., • Identifies safety issues that may arise due to equipment modification., • Maintaining a clean and orderly environment conducive to safe work habits encourages employee accountability., • Ensures the plant is compliant with local state and federal rules in the area of maintenance equipment About You: • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field preferred., • Minimum ten years’ experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment, food preferred with maintenance, engineering, project management and/or production management required., • Minimum of five years management experience, • Experience in mechanical and/or systems related technical training or equivalent experience., • Functional understanding of predictive and preventive maintenance programs, work order systems and world-class maintenance systems is desired., • Previous experience using a Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS) preferred., • Must possess analytical troubleshooting skills., • Must have good verbal and written communication skills., • Continuous improvement/lean manufacturing experience preferred., • Proficient in use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook, Timekeeping software, PM management software Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Physical Demands: • The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential function of this job.
