Job Description Position Overview The Sous Chef works closely with the Executive Chef to manage daily kitchen operations, lead staff, and ensure consistent quality across all dishes. This role is ideal for a strong leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about Italian cuisine. Key Responsibilities • Assist the Executive Chef in managing all kitchen operations, • Supervise and train line cooks and prep staff, • Ensure all dishes are prepared to recipe and presentation standards, • Maintain food quality, consistency, and portion control, • Oversee inventory, ordering, and food cost control, • Enforce sanitation and food safety standards, • Step in to lead the kitchen in the Executive Chef’s absence, • Help develop specials and contribute to menu improvements Qualifications • 3+ years of experience in a leadership kitchen role (Sous Chef or strong Line Cook ready to advance), • Strong knowledge of Italian cuisine and cooking techniques preferred, • Proven leadership and team management skills, • Ability to work under pressure in a high-volume environment, • Excellent organizational and communication skills, • Flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays, • Culinary degree is a plus, but not requiredCompany DescriptionA Touch of Italy is a long-running, family-owned Italian restaurant known for its classic, made-to-order dishes and welcoming atmosphere.
