Job Summary/Objective The Preventive Maintenance Technician will play a vital role of ensuring UDA plant, warehouses, and facilities are operating, with minimal downtime, by performing preventive and predictive mechanical and electrical repairs. Schedule: Monday - Friday 6 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. Primary Duties & Responsibilities: The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following: • Perform preventive and predictive mechanical and electrical repairs for all UDA plants, warehouses, and facilities, • Collect and perform laboratory water quality tests, • Monitor and calibrate on-line water quality equipment, • Regularly provide prompt and detailed technical assistance for a variety of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and refrigeration conditions, • Perform a variety of routine industrial pneumatic diagnostics and maintenance for valves, banks, and fittings, • Perform a routine maintenance to PVC, copper, stainless-steel fittings, and other plumbing fixtures throughout facility, • Manage multiple simultaneous projects and prioritize maintenance orders by level of urgency and age, • Document and log completed maintenance tasks into CMMS system and provide regular updates to maintenance team, • Maintain a clean and organized work area Qualifications: General Skills & Abilities needed to complete job successfully: • Basic understanding of: Industrial electrical, pneumatic, boiler, refrigeration systems, motor, compressors, gearboxes, and pumps, • Detail oriented with the ability to effectively diagnose, troubleshoot, and conduct complex repairs, • Basic understanding of lubrication principles and techniques including bearing types and usage, • Prior experience conducting utility and HVAC/R maintenance, • Ability to operate equipment including a forklift, and various lifts, • Team-player mentality with the ability to self-manage and prioritize time, tasks, and projects, • Basic typing skills and familiarity with computer programs such as a CMMS or EAM, • Industrial maintenance or mechanical technical school certification Work Environment & Demands Physical and environmental demands for this position are indicated below: (check all that are applicable) Physical Demands: ☐Sitting for limited periods of time ☒Standing and walking for extended periods of time ☒Occasional bending, crouching, stooping, twisting, reaching and grasping ☐Manual dexterity and repetitive movement of fingers and hands for keyboarding ☒Ability to climb stairs ☒Some lifting, up to 25 pounds • Requires ability to walk and stand for 12 or more hours at a time, • Requires ability to safely operate equipment by visually observing the condition of equipment and surroundings, • Requires ability to hear and speak, occasionally in high time weighted average environments with elevated decibel readings (using appropriate hearing protection), • Requires ability to walk, stand, stoop, bend, reach, lift, push, pull and carry items up to 55lbs, • Requires ability to push and pull items up to 150lbs, • Requires ability to climb ladders and stairs of various heights occasionally including floors of 100ft or more, with appropriate fall protection PPE, • Requires ability to work in varying extreme hot, cold, and wet temperatures and conditions, • Requires ability to work in confined spaces frequently, • Requires ability to work safely with hazardous chemicals, • Ability to safely operate a forklift occasionally BENEFITS: • Medical, Dental & Vision plans, • 401(k) Retirement Plan with employer match, • Disability Insurance, • Life Insurance, • Employee Assistance Program, • Health & Wellness Programs, • Paid Time Off, • Shift Pay Differential, • Education Assistance, • On-site Fitness Center, • On-Site Health Clinic The duties and responsibilities described are not a comprehensive list; employees may be subject to additional, or altered, tasks and the scope of the role may change as necessitated by business demands.
