The Senior Machinist will lead complex setups, precision machining operations, and process optimization across our CNC equipment — including Akira Seiki, Haas, and similar platforms. You’ll be responsible for setting up, operating, and mentoring junior machinists, ensuring all parts meet tight tolerances and quality requirements. This role requires a hands-on leader who takes initiative, understands efficient workflow, and can communicate effectively with engineering and programming teams. Key Responsibilities • Perform complex CNC setups and run production on milling and turning machines., • Interpret blueprints, 3D CAD files, and GD&T drawings for precision machining., • Edit and adjust G-code and M-code to optimize performance and quality., • Train, guide, and support junior machinists on setup, tooling, and inspection., • Inspect workpieces using precision tools (micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, etc.)., • Recommend process improvements for tooling, fixtures, and cycle time reduction., • Collaborate with engineering/programming to refine machining strategies., • 5+ years CNC machining experience, including setups and operation., • Deep knowledge of milling and turning (multi-axis or Swiss experience a plus)., • Familiarity with Akira Seiki, Haas, or similar machine controls., • Proficiency in G-code editing; Mastercam experience preferred., • Strong understanding of tooling, workholding, feeds/speeds, and materials., • Ability to mentor and teach junior team members., • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving, and organizational skills., • Experience in aerospace, medical device, robotics, or automotive industries preferred., • Technical certification or associate degree in machining/manufacturing is a plus.

Team members also have to have a deep reserve of problem-solving skills to quickly troubleshoot issues that arise. They usually can't wait to get home to tinker in their shop. They're the people you want to call when something goes wrong. You are joining an early-stage fusion company. Please expect to wear different hats and take 0 to 1 ownership of objectives. As a machinist/programmer, you will play a key role in manufacturing TITAN components, ensuring precision and quality in all parts. This position will focus on operating and programming Haas CNC machines, ensuring that all machined parts meet the highest standards required. You will collaborate closely with design engineering to manufacture parts for both prototypes and production, contributing directly to mission-critical projects. Role * Set up and operate CNC mills, lathes, (4 axis, y axis turning), selecting appropriate tooling to ensure precision machining of parts. * Write and edit programs for CNC machines (HAAS) to fabricate components. Optimize machine cycles for productivity and accuracy. * Select and create tooling setups based on part requirements. Use inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, and evaluate inspection reports from Coordinate Measurement Machines (CMM’s) to verify the dimensions and quality of parts. * Run multiple CNC machines simultaneously, scheduling jobs effectively to maximize production output without compromising quality. * Work with design engineering teams to help with manufacturability, design considerations, and material suitability. Assist in resolving any non-conformance issues during the machining process. * Maintain accurate documentation of part configuration. * Identify defects during the manufacturing process and write non-conformance tickets to communicate issues and initiate resolution processes. * Procure materials needed for machining jobs as per project requirements. * Assist in training new employees and provide guidance to other machinists in the shop on CNC programming, machining processes, and best practices. Minimum Requirements * High school diploma (or GED) and at least 4 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience in CNC machining * 1+ years of professional experience on setup and operation of CNC mills and/or lathes * 1+ years of professional experience reading G-code and programming CNC machine * Skilled in using inspection tools such as CMM, calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments to verify dimensions and ensure quality standards are met. Strong understanding of GD&T and its applications. * Familiar with SolidWorks, Fusion CAD/CAM, Mastercam, or other CAM software for part programming and design interpretation. * Possesses a solid foundation in geometric, trigonometric, and practical shop mathematics, enabling the application of fractional, decimal, and conversion calculations to machining processes. * Develop and implement comprehensive maintenance procedures for all machining equipment, ensuring they are easily understood and executable by any qualified technician. * Establish and maintain a detailed maintenance log and a well-organized system for tracking equipment service, repairs, and preventative maintenance, guaranteeing seamless operational continuity. Additional Requirements * Must be capable of acquiring forklift operator certification.Ability to drive a forklift and/or scissor lift * May be required to work extended hours or weekend shifts to meet time-sensitive project goals. * Must be able to travel and work. Physical Requirements * Capable of maintaining a fixed position, either standing or seated, for extended durations during machine operation. * Can lift, transport, and place items weighing up to 25 pounds.
