The Medical Group Management Association (MGMA is looking for a Data Project Analyst to join our Denver/hybrid team. The Data Project Analyst is responsible for assisting in producing nationally recognized health care surveys, products and projects for Medical Group Management Association (MGMA) by setting goals, developing questionnaires, managing timelines, analyzing and editing data, and communicating results to internal and external audiences. Leads survey projects with responsibility for project and project team oversight, as assigned, including meeting established deadlines within budget. Participates in project timeline development and resource deployment plans. May serve as project lead with responsibility for project oversight. • Develops and programs files used for automated report generation and data analysis for all MGMA surveys., • Responsible for quality review of MGMA survey reports with applicable subject matter experts (SMEs)., • Identifies and deploys process improvement ideas to streamline efficiency and accuracy of survey data and other products., • Oversees and participates in data editing and verification, evaluates, and assesses statistical data produced from returned survey questionnaires. Determines outliers and extreme values based on industry knowledge and statistical measures such as the data review tool and examining programs., • By position, develops programs data editing and data analysis for project creation for all MGMA surveys within internal software., • Applies tests to find inconsistent logic, mathematical problems and other data inconsistencies, researches identified data problems and maintains the integrity of the data., • Designs survey questionnaires and definition booklets and produces statistical tables and graphs of the data. Develops new statistical tables and participates in new product development., • Assists with review of supplemental research and analysis data reports and participates in reviews of survey materials with assigned MGMA committees., • Develops training plans for new employees with responsibility for assigning tasks, monitoring progress, and ensuring adequate training., • Responsible for pulling and managing data for press releases and MGMA publications., • Assists team with cohort analysis, webinars and presentations regarding MGMA data., • Participates in presentations with the Association’s members and at MGMA conferences where applicable., • Communicates with survey respondents to discuss practices structure, reported information, verifies, and corrects survey questionnaire data, ensures survey applicability, and expands upon submitted data., • Provides technical interpretation of revenue, expenses, staffing, cost efficiency, compensation and production information reported in the MGMA survey and related products, accessing database when necessary. Answers inquiries regarding survey reports from practice administrators, consultants, and others., • Manages day to day work assignments, data editing, data verification and data entry, as necessary., • Collaborates across departments to promote, maintain, and utilize survey data., • Responsible for custom analysis requests from members., • Maintain confidentiality of all survey data., • Meets established timelines for survey report generation., • Ability to consistently promote, support, work, and act in a manner in support of MGMA’s mission, vision, and values., • Ability to acquire and apply knowledge of survey design, sampling, evaluation, and assessment., • Demonstrates expertise in product cycle with clear understanding of health care trends., • Knowledge of descriptive statistics, statistics packages, major operating, and database systems., • Knowledge or ability to learn survey design, sampling, evaluation, and assessment., • Strong skills using Microsoft Office Suite., • Knowledge of major operating, and other database systems., • Demonstrated strong organizational, project management and leadership skills., • possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to convey complex statistical ideas to members/customers., • Ability to lead teams and train staff., • Ability to identify problems, research alternatives, and achieve solutions., • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with individuals from all organizational levels., • Manages day to day work assignments, data editing, data verification and data entry, as necessary., • A Bachelor’s Degree in Health or Business Administration, Psychology, Sociology, Statistics, Quantitative Methods, Economics, Accounting, or related field is required., • Three (3) or more years of experience in health care or business administration, survey research or related field is required. Additional Requirements/Licenses/Certifications: • Must have reliable transportation., • Work is generally performed in an indoor, professional office environment., • Will need to attend conferences and MGMA events around the country., • This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, fax machines, and scanners.
