The role will develop and manage brand standards and apply them consistently to campaign creative, marketing assets, corporate communications, presentations, photography, and video. In addition to creative applications, the role is responsible for highly technical and detail-oriented production processes for transit maps, route timetables, and critical rider information. This person must be able to multi-task, possess proven time management skills, communicate with internal and external contacts, and meet critical deadlines in a fast-paced environment. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES To succeed in this role, an individual must satisfactorily perform the functions listed below. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS • Manages the IndyGo brand by developing assets and applying standards to marketing campaigns, corporate communications, and maps., • Creates overall marketing campaigns, execution, and design., • Designs graphics for and coordinates all elements of television, web, digital, and print advertisements., • Develops complex, high-priority designs for public-facing projects such as vehicle wraps, bus stop signage, corporate collateral, and advertisements., • Produces layouts for various monthly communications projects for print and web with content supplied by the public affairs team., • Coordinates logistics with vendors and printers to ensure timely delivery of marketing materials, including large-scale signage and vehicle wraps., • Designs graphics for and supports web maintenance using the Content Management System., • Supports internal communication needs for various departments with graphic assets and layouts., • Works with outside vendors to produce final projects., • Maintains graphics library and archives all layouts in organized electronic files., • Tracks, maintains, and analyzes the performance of web advertisements and ensures fulfillment of media buys., • Assists in creating, editing, and producing transit maps and timetables., • Possesses basic writing, grammar, and punctuation skills to self-edit content when producing graphics. OTHER FUNCTIONS • Assures department compliance with federal ADA, Civil Rights, and procurement regulations., • Applies federal regulations to public involvement practices., • Participates and contributes to the functional budget and the procurement process., • Develops, manages, or assists with special projects as needed., • Provide support to other IndyGo departments as needed., • Perform other duties as assigned in alignment with IndyGo’s strategic goals. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES • No direct staff reports., • Helps supervise the Public Relations Specialist whose job description includes 30% graphic design to assist the Creative Design Manager with less complex design projects. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE To perform this job successfully, an individual should possess the following education and/or experience. • Bachelor’s degree in visual communication, graphic design, new media, marketing, or a related field is preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered., • Three to five years of experience in design, marketing, photography, videography, public relations, or a related field., • At least two years of experience designing for both the web and print. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. • Thorough knowledge of working in the Adobe Creative Suite with special emphasis on Illustrator and InDesign., • Attention to detail, efficient and accurate production of content, and effective organizational skills., • Advanced computer skills including proficiency with HTML, XML, CSS, and basic scripting., • Ability to translate collaborative creative concepts into finished products., • Knowledge of accessible design practices to serve individuals with disabilities including low vision., • Basic knowledge of cartographic design and GIS output., • Ability to navigate complex spreadsheets, database programs, and web applications., • Ability to capture or coordinate high-resolution photos for creative purposes., • Ability to operate office equipment, including copiers, scanners, fax machines, and phones., • Proficiency in written English, including grammar, vocabulary, and spelling., • Ability to effectively communicate with others., • Ability to interact with internal and external constituents in person and through video, phone, email, and written correspondence., • Demonstrated decision-making and problem-solving abilities., • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, with or without reasonable accommodation., • Ability to edit and proof content to ensure accurate spelling, grammar, and punctuation., • Basic mathematical skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division)., • Ability to prioritize, organize, and manage tasks and time effectively; demonstrated project management skills., • Ability to build consensus, motivate and influence others.
