No C2C, third-party, or employer-sponsored candidates will be considered.Nature & Scope:Positional OverviewOur client is seeking a Technical Engineer IV – Network Performance Monitoring to join its Enterprise Observability organization and lead the implementation of a centralized Network Performance Monitoring (NPM) strategy across the enterprise.This role will serve as a senior engineering resource responsible for deploying and enhancing the organization's next-generation observability capabilities, with a primary focus on implementing IBM SevOne as the enterprise network monitoring platform. The engineer will partner closely with network engineering teams, observability specialists, and infrastructure stakeholders to improve network visibility, establish monitoring standards, and deliver actionable insights across critical banking environments.The successful candidate will possess deep expertise in network observability, network infrastructure, telemetry, logging, alerting, and large-scale enterprise monitoring platforms. Experience with IBM SevOne is highly preferred, though comparable enterprise network monitoring tools and observability solutions are also valued.This position offers the opportunity to influence long-term enterprise monitoring strategies while helping modernize network operations and improve operational resiliency across a complex technology landscape.Role & Responsibility:Tasks That Will Lead To Your SuccessEnterprise Network Performance Monitoring • Lead implementation and operational ownership of IBM SevOne as the enterprise Network Performance Monitoring platform., • Support the migration and consolidation of legacy network monitoring solutions into a centralized observability ecosystem., • Develop and maintain enterprise standards for network monitoring, telemetry collection, and alerting practices., • Partner with network engineering teams to improve visibility into critical infrastructure environments., • Establish long-term monitoring strategies that align with enterprise observability initiatives., • Participate in architecture discussions related to network operations, infrastructure monitoring, and performance engineering.Monitoring Platform Ownership & Engineering, • Own the design, implementation, support, and lifecycle management of network monitoring platforms., • Perform platform upgrades, patching activities, and capacity planning initiatives., • Ensure monitoring platform availability, scalability, and service-level performance objectives., • Define standards for onboarding network devices, metrics, and monitoring configurations., • Maintain documentation, engineering standards, and operational procedures. Telemetry & Data Collection Strategy, • Design and maintain enterprise telemetry pipelines utilizing:, • SNMP, • NetFlow, sFlow, and IPFIX, • Streaming telemetry technologies, • Interface, device, and infrastructure metrics, • Define and maintain KPI standards including:, • Latency, • Packet loss, • Throughput, • Utilization, • Error rates, • Establish retention, aggregation, and reporting standards for network performance data., • Ensure comprehensive monitoring coverage across enterprise environments. Alerting, Logging & Signal Engineering, • Design and optimize enterprise alerting strategies and notification processes., • Implement threshold management, anomaly detection, and noise-reduction initiatives., • Improve signal-to-noise ratios through intelligent alert tuning and correlation., • Develop monitoring standards for logs, events, and telemetry signals., • Support integration with broader observability and incident management ecosystems. Network Performance Analysis & Operations, • Analyze network performance trends, bottlenecks, and degradation patterns., • Conduct root cause analysis for high-priority incidents involving network infrastructure., • Identify opportunities for performance optimization and capacity improvements., • Support enterprise capacity planning and forecasting activities., • Collaborate with operations teams to distinguish tooling issues from underlying network faults. Dashboarding & Enterprise Observability, • Build operational dashboards supporting real-time troubleshooting and monitoring activities., • Develop executive-level reporting and SLA trend visualizations., • Integrate network monitoring data with broader enterprise observability platforms., • Enable cross-domain correlation between applications, infrastructure, and network services., • Support integrations with technologies such as Dynatrace and IT Operations Management platforms.Incident Response & Support, • Participate in a rotating on-call schedule as part of the enterprise engineering organization., • Provide subject matter expertise during major incidents and outage investigations., • Develop and maintain incident response procedures and operational playbooks., • Support troubleshooting activities involving routers, switches, firewalls, WAN technologies, and cloud networking environments. Automation & Continuous Improvement, • Automate monitoring workflows including:, • Device onboarding, • Alert tuning, • Dashboard creation, • Reporting activities, • Improve monitoring coverage, operational efficiency, and incident response metrics., • Drive proactive monitoring and self-healing initiatives where appropriate., • Mentor less experienced engineers and promote engineering best practices throughout the organization. Skills & ExperienceQualifications That Will Help You ThriveRequired Experience, • Minimum of 8 years of professional experience in technical engineering, network engineering, observability, or infrastructure operations., • Strong expertise in network monitoring and enterprise observability platforms., • Experience implementing and supporting large-scale network monitoring solutions., • Deep understanding of:, • Network infrastructure technologies, • Routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers, • Network telemetry and flow analytics, • Logging, alerting, and performance monitoring, • Incident response and operational support processes, • Experience with:, • SNMP, • NetFlow, sFlow, and IPFIX, • Streaming telemetry technologies, • Capacity planning and performance engineering, • Advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills., • Ability to work independently within complex enterprise environments., • Strong verbal and written communication skills., • Experience collaborating with engineering, infrastructure, and operations teams.
