Job Description • Candidates must be license-eligible in Rhode Island or preferably already hold an unrestricted LCSW, LICSW, LMHC, LMHA-a, LMFT, LMFT-a or comparable licensure., • Offer a range of supportive and therapeutic services to people who are actively using substances, people using the PW/R Drop-In Center, and/or people accessing the Overdose Protection Center, including but not limited to the following:, • Engage persons served in therapeutic interactions to build trusting relationships., • Provide client-centered, harm reduction-oriented crisis intervention, individual counseling, and on-demand clinical services., • Support individuals in initiating and maintaining changes based on individual goals and empower clients with the information necessary to make informed decisions about their health and wellbeing., • Offer group-level interventions with clients by providing a safe space for individuals to share and reflect with their peers, on topics related to their substance use practices and experiences., • Intakes and reassessments with clients who choose to engage in treatment including, but not limited to, medication for Opioid Use Disorder., • Help persons served to define individual goals for reducing substance-related harms, engaging in treatment services, improving overall wellness, and personalizing recovery plans., • Make referrals as needed to medical care, case management, housing services, food pantry, benefits, emergency needs, higher levels of care, and other services based on their individual goals., • Provide relevant, accurate, and appropriate risk reduction information via counseling, distributing literature, safer use and safer sex supplies, and educating individuals on how supplies may be used to reduce risks., • Guide persons served to develop an understanding of their relationship with substances and explore alternative and/or supplemental skills for managing emotions, stressors, relationships, and other needs., • Participate with the interdisciplinary care team and with partners at Project Weber/RENEW to coordinate and deliver comprehensive supports based on the individual goals and treatment plan., • Maintain confidentiality of records and persons served., • Complete documentation by end of work shift and maintain records that are comprehensive, complete, and well organized., • Participates in community relations activities, including public education., • Participates in or helps schedule and attend trainings and other educational events;, • Completes tasks and adheres to policy and procedure to ensure the site meets State Regulations and CARF Standards., • Supervision of staff members as needed., • Performs other duties as assigned.
