American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN PICU - Pediatric Intensive Care for a travel nursing job in Omaha, Nebraska. Job Description & Requirements • Specialty: PICU - Pediatric Intensive Care, • Discipline: RN, • Start Date: 05/18/2026, • Duration: 12 weeks, • 36 hours per week, • Shift: 12 hours, nights, • Employment Type: Travel Assignment Overview • Shift: Nights, 3x12hrs, • Hours: 36 hrs/wk, • Start Date: May 18, 2026, • Length: 12 weeks, • Acute care hospital setting in a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), • High-acuity pediatric patient population including complex neurological, respiratory, and post-surgical cases, • Occasional support for emergent adult patients in the medical/surgical unit, • 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, 36 hours per week, • Every other weekend required, • No on-call requirements, • 12-week contract, • Computerized charting system (specific EMR not listed)Requirements, • Active NE or Compact RN license required, • Current BLS and PALS certifications required, • ACLS certification preferred but not required to start, • Minimum 2 years of PICU or equivalent high-acuity pediatric critical care experience required, • Proficiency in ventilator management, including hospital and home ventilators, suctioning, and airway management, • Experience titrating sedation drips (e.g., Versed, Fentanyl, Precedex) and other titratable medications, • Experience with arterial lines, central lines, and invasive monitoring tools, • Experience managing complex pediatric neurological cases (e.g., seizure management, post-surgical recovery including VP shunts, ICP monitoring, EVD), • Cardiac, ECMO, and dialysis experience are not requiredAdditional Information, • Provide direct care for critically ill pediatric patients including those with respiratory failure, sepsis, neurosurgical needs, and seizure disorders, • Manage patients on ventilatory support, sedation infusions, and critical neurological monitoring including ICP and EVD, • Support resuscitation efforts for emergent adult patients in the medical/surgical unit as needed With thousands of travel nursing and allied jobs nationwide, our attentive and approachable recruiters find positions that align perfectly with your career aspirations and personal requirements.
