We are hiring a Family Support Service Worker /Driver (FSSWD) for our mobile office. The FSSWD works in our mobile office that visits different communities in our service area. They are responsible for client intake and eligibility determination for Brightpoint programs and financial assistance. The FSSWD drives and maintains the mobile office, provides referral, outreach, and advocacy services for families with other human service organizations, utility companies, and other private and public entities. Ideal candidates will have a High School Diploma or equivalent required along with a minimum of 2 years of large vehicle (box truck or RV) driving experience, preference given to Class B or C CDL license holders. They will know how operate basic office equipment, and have the ability to interact with individuals from a variety of socio-economic backgrounds. Capable to work with minimal supervision; self-motivated, attentive to detail, organized, productive, able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, and dependable. Starting Salary Range: $18.75 -$24 per hour Depending on Experience JOB SUMMARYThe Family Support Services Worker/Driver is responsible for safely transporting Brightpoint staff and equipment to the assigned locations in a timely manner. The FSSWD responsibility is to promote a positive, friendly work environment for co-workers, clients, and the general public. The FSSWD's work involves client contact in a social work capacity, responsibility for maintaining the mobile office, and has authority within their assigned area. Represents Brightpoint at various county events.JOB DUTIES • Assigned to primary driver of the Mobile Office and responsible for maintaining calendar and meeting locations., • Safely transporting Brightpoint staff and materials to and from specified locations in a timely manner., • Maintain a clean and mechanically-sound vehicle by performing regular washing, cleaning and basic vehicle maintenance., • Obey all traffic laws. Adjust travel routes to meet overpass height requirements for the vehicle., • Perform inspections of the vehicle before and after each route/scheduled activity, maintaining fuel levels and mileage logs., • Reporting any accidents, injuries and vehicle damage to management., • Assist clients with getting on and off the mobile unit when necessary., • Responsible for initiating applications for Brightpoint programs ensuring compliance with program operations, regulations, and standards, this includes, but is not limited to Energy Assistance and Child Care Development Fund., • Maintain a minimum standard of quality established by the program regulations and within Brightpoint's established guidelines., • Collaborates with other Brightpoint departments, programs, and services to ensure maximum benefits to families. SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED), • Minimum 2 years of large vehicle (box truck or RV) driving experience, preference given to Class B or C CDL license holders., • Must have a satisfactory driving record, based on Brightpoint's auto insurance carrier., • Must have sound knowledge of road safety regulations., • Ability to utilize maps, GPS systems and other navigational systems., • Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills with strong mathematics aptitude., • Ability to quickly develop a thorough understanding of basic community action concepts., • Ability to work with minimal supervision; self-motivated, attentive to detail, organized, productive, flexible, and dependable., • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends., • Ability to relate well with diverse personalities from a variety of socio-economic backgrounds., • High comfort level with public interaction., • When driving for Brightpoint, the employee must have a valid Indiana driver's license and must maintain minimum auto insurance liability of $100,00/$300,000.
