Job DescriptionJob Title: Shipping and Receiving WorkerJob Description This role focuses on shipping, receiving, and material handling within a fast-paced warehouse and manufacturing environment. You will receive, inspect, store, and distribute materials while maintaining accurate inventory records and supporting production and distribution operations. The position requires strong attention to detail, adherence to safety standards, and effective communication with team members across multiple shifts. Responsibilities • Receive, unload, and store incoming inventory items in accordance with established company protocols and procedures., • Perform quality control checks on incoming and outgoing shipments to verify product accuracy, condition, and integrity., • Operate shipping equipment and systems to safely transport, load, and verify materials within the warehouse., • Locate, pick, and gather products for distribution to production workers, assembly lines, or shipping areas., • Assist with inventory management by tracking, recording, and updating inventory levels and locations., • Conduct or support inventory and cycle counts to maintain accurate stock records., • Handle materials safely and efficiently, including operating forklifts or other material handling equipment as required., • Maintain a clean, orderly, and organized work area, consistently adhering to all safety protocols and regulations., • Communicate clearly and professionally with team members and supervisors to coordinate workflow and meet production and shipping deadlines., • Follow established warehouse procedures, including documentation and use of shipping systems, to ensure accurate and timely order processing.Essential Skills, • Minimum of 1 year of shipping and receiving experience; 2 or more years is strongly preferred., • Hands-on experience with inventory control, including inventory and cycle counting., • Material handling experience in a warehouse or distribution environment., • Familiarity with warehouse operations and inventory management processes., • Knowledge of shipping equipment and shipping systems used in warehouse operations., • Understanding of safety standards and protocols in a warehouse or manufacturing environment., • Strong attention to detail with the ability to accurately verify products and documentation., • High School Diploma or GED.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Experience with shipping and receiving functions in a manufacturing or distribution center., • Background in inventory control and stock management., • Material handling skills, including the ability to move, lift, and stage products safely., • Forklift experience or the ability to learn and operate forklifts and related equipment., • Order pulling and picking experience in a production or warehouse setting., • Experience supporting production operations by supplying materials to production lines or assembly areas.Why Work Here? Work Environment This position is based in a manufacturing company within a warehouse and distribution center setting. Work takes place in a large warehouse facility, with operations supported at two nearby sites located approximately 10 minutes apart. The role involves working around shipping equipment, material handling tools, and warehouse systems, including forklifts and related machinery. There are three primary shifts available: 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM Monday through Friday, 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM Monday through Friday, and 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM Sunday through Thursday. There are openings on all shifts, and schedules may include a mandatory six-day workweek with rotating weekend assignments, alternating between Saturday and Sunday based on the schedule. The environment is production- and deadline-driven, requiring consistent adherence to safety protocols, organized work habits, and readiness to work in a busy warehouse atmosphere. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Orangeburg, NY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $20.00/hr.
