Contingent Upon Contract Award Job Summary: The Financial Analyst is responsible for analyzing financial data, supporting cost control, pricing strategies, and proposal development for Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) space technology programs under the SSHINE contract. This role plays a critical part in managing multiple concurrent task orders, forecasting costs, tracking expenditures, and providing financial insights to ensure on-time, on-budget performance across complex aerospace programs. The Financial Analyst supports rapid proposal responses, contract cost management, and compliance with Government financial reporting requirements. The ideal candidate will support: • Task order cost management: Forecast, track, and control costs across multiple concurrent task orders supporting CubeSat through ESPA-class spacecraft programs, • Proposal pricing and cost estimation: Develop cost estimates, pricing models, and financial proposals for new task orders with response times as short as 15 days, • Government financial reporting: Prepare Contract Funds Reports, Man Hour Expenditure Reports, and Integrated Program Management Reports in accordance with CDRL requirements, • Cost control and variance analysis: Monitor expenditures, identify cost trends, and support corrective actions to maintain budget compliance across space technology programs This position requires strong financial analysis skills, experience with Government contracting cost management, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment supporting innovative space technology experiments for the Department of Defense. Key Responsibilities: Financial Planning & Analysis * • Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, risks, and opportunities, • Develop and maintain financial models for forecasting, budgeting, and strategic planning, • Prepare management reports, KPIs, forecasts, and cost performance updates, • Forecast, track, and control budgets, expenditures, and funding across multiple projects or task orders, • Monitor labor, materials, travel, subcontractor, and indirect costs, • Perform variance analysis and recommend corrective actions to maintain budget performance, • Develop cost estimates and pricing models for proposals and new business opportunities, • Support pricing strategies through cost, margin, and competitive analysis, • Prepare basis of estimate documentation, pricing narratives, and financial risk assessments, • Prepare financial reports, invoices, and required customer deliverables, • Ensure compliance with company policies, FAR/DFARS, accounting standards, and reporting requirements, • Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, controls, and automation, • Partner with program managers, contracts, business development, procurement, and leadership to provide financial insights and recommendations, • Perform other finance-related duties as assigned Qualifications: • Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field, • Experience:, • Junior: 0-3 years of experience in financial analysis, budgeting, or accounting, preferably with pricing and cost analysis experience, • Senior: 10+ years of experience in financial analysis, budgeting, or accounting, with pricing and cost analysis experience, • Clearance: Secret, • Required Skills:, • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel including financial modeling, pivot tables, and advanced formulas, • Experience with Government contract cost management and financial reporting, • Understanding of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) cost principles, • Knowledge of cost accounting standards and indirect rate structures, • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills, • Experience with proposal pricing and cost estimating for Government contracts, • Ability to prepare financial reports and presentations for Government customers, • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial analysis, • Strong communication skills for presenting financial information to technical and non-technical audiences, • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities across concurrent task orders, • Experience tracking labor hours, material costs, travel expenses, and subcontractor costs, • Proficiency with invoice preparation and billing processes, • Preferred Skills:, • Experience with HRIS and ERP systems such as ADP, Unanet, Deltek Costpoint, or similar Government contracting systems, • Experience with financial forecasting and project management tools, • Advanced proficiency in Excel (Power Query, Macros, VBA, or Power Pivot), • Experience with DoD contracts, AFRL programs, or aerospace industry financial management, • Familiarity with DCAA (Defense Contract Audit Agency) audit requirements, • Experience with cost-plus, firm-fixed-price, and time-and-materials contract types, • Knowledge of EVMS (Earned Value Management System) principles, • Experience with business intelligence platforms such as Power BI or Tableau, • Understanding of aerospace program cost drivers and space technology procurement, • Experience with rapid proposal response (15-day turnaround), • Familiarity with CDRL preparation and Government deliverable requirements, • Knowledge of travel cost regulations including Joint Travel Regulations, • Experience with Associate Contractor Agreement cost coordination, • Strong financial storytelling skills with ability to present insights to program leadership, • Experience supporting multiple concurrent programs with varying funding sources Work Environment/Physical Requirements: • Primarily office-based work with a moderate amount of sitting, standing, and walking, • Occasional lifting of office supplies or equipment up to 20 lbs, • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interaction with staff and management Work Schedule: This is a full-time position, typically working 40 hours per week.
