We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Corporate Accountant – Multi-Entity CFO Support to work closely with our CFO and the bookkeeping teams supporting these companies. This is a high-impact opportunity for a CPA or public accounting manager-level professional who enjoys working across multiple industries, improving accounting systems, strengthening internal controls, and helping business leaders make informed decisions. Job Title: Senior Corporate Accountant - Multi Entity CFO Support Position Summary: We are seeking an exceptionally strong Senior Corporate Accountant to support our multi-entity CFO and approximately 20 companies operating across construction, manufacturing, real estate, and related industries. This role is ideal for a seasoned CPA, tax manager, audit manager, public accounting manager, or similarly experienced corporate accountant who can operate with a high degree of independence and professional judgment. The successful candidate will serve as a key technical and operational resource for the CFO, partnering with bookkeeping teams and company leadership to improve accounting accuracy, financial reporting, tax compliance, internal controls, and accounting processes across the organization. This is not a single-company staff accounting position. The role requires the ability to understand and support multiple entities, industries, accounting systems, ownership structures, and business priorities simultaneously. The ideal candidate is technically strong, highly organized, proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable identifying problems, developing practical solutions, and helping teams implement better practices. Key Responsibilities Multi-Entity Accounting and Financial Reporting • Support the CFO with accounting and financial oversight for approximately 20 affiliated entities., • Review and analyze financial information across construction, ready-mix concrete, manufacturing, real estate, and other operating companies., • Review monthly and year-end financial statements for accuracy, completeness, consistency, and proper classification., • Assist with consolidations, intercompany accounting, eliminations, allocations, and entity-level reporting., • Review general ledger activity, reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, fixed assets, prepaid expenses, debt, equity, and other balance sheet accounts., • Identify unusual transactions, discrepancies, reporting inconsistencies, and potential control weaknesses., • Help establish consistent month-end and year-end close procedures across entities., • Prepare, review, or support management reports, financial analysis, cash flow reporting, budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis., • Assist the CFO with special projects, financial modeling, acquisitions, new entity setup, and organizational restructuring. Bookkeeping Team Oversight and Development • Work closely with internal and external bookkeeping teams supporting the various entities., • Review bookkeeping work for accuracy and adherence to established procedures., • Provide guidance, training, and technical support to bookkeeping personnel., • Establish clear expectations for account reconciliations, documentation, coding, close deadlines, and reporting quality., • Help standardize accounting procedures and best practices across entities while recognizing that each business may have different operational requirements., • Develop review checklists, close calendars, account reconciliation standards, and documentation procedures., • Serve as a resource for resolving complex accounting questions and issues. Systems, Processes, and Internal Controls • Evaluate current accounting systems, workflows, and reporting processes., • Recommend and implement improvements to accounting procedures, controls, and technology., • Help determine where processes should be standardized, automated, centralized, or maintained at the entity level., • Improve the reliability, timeliness, and usefulness of financial information., • Assist with accounting software implementations, integrations, chart-of-accounts design, reporting structures, and system improvements., • Develop and document policies and procedures for recurring accounting and financial processes., • Identify opportunities to reduce errors, improve efficiency, and strengthen segregation of duties., • Help prepare the organization for growth, acquisitions, audits, lender reporting, and increased financial complexity. CFO Support • Serve as a trusted accounting and technical resource to the CFO., • Prepare information and analysis for management meetings, lenders, investors, owners, and other stakeholders., • Assist with cash flow planning, financial forecasts, budgets, and business performance analysis., • Research accounting, tax, and financial reporting matters and present practical recommendations., • Manage multiple priorities and deadlines across different companies and industries., • Handle confidential financial, tax, payroll, ownership, and business information with discretion., • Take ownership of projects from initial assessment through implementation and follow-up. Qualifications Required • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field., • Significant experience in public accounting, corporate accounting, or a combination of both., • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and general corporate accounting principles., • Demonstrated experience with month-end close, financial statement review, account reconciliations, and balance sheet analysis., • Experience working with multiple entities, divisions, subsidiaries, or clients., • Strong technical accounting, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills., • Ability to review work critically, identify inconsistencies, and follow issues through to resolution., • Excellent written and verbal communication skills., • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with the CFO, bookkeepers, managers, and outside professionals., • High level of discretion, integrity, accountability, and attention to detail., • Proficiency with accounting software, Microsoft Excel, and financial reporting tools. Preferred • Active CPA license., • Public accounting manager, senior manager, or equivalent experience., • Experience working with multiple privately held businesses., • Experience in construction accounting, real estate, manufacturing, or project-based businesses., • Experience with job costing, work-in-progress reporting, percentage-of-completion accounting, retainage, change orders, or construction billing., • Experience with ready-mix, manufacturing, inventory, production, or plant operations., • Experience with real estate entities, partnerships, LLCs, property-level accounting, or investment reporting., • Experience with consolidations, intercompany transactions, and related-party accounting., • Experience implementing or improving accounting systems and internal controls., • Experience coordinating audits, reviews, compilations, tax engagements, or lender reporting., • Familiarity with accounting platforms such as QuickBooks, ECI Mark Systems, ODOO Ideal Candidate Profile The ideal candidate will be: • A technically excellent accountant with strong public accounting or corporate accounting experience., • Comfortable moving between strategic work and detailed transaction-level review., • Capable of understanding the accounting needs of very different businesses., • Confident reviewing the work of others and providing constructive guidance., • Proactive in identifying issues before they become significant problems., • Skilled at creating structure, accountability, and consistency., • Comfortable managing competing deadlines across multiple entities., • A practical problem-solver who can implement solutions rather than only identify problems., • Professional, trustworthy, discreet, and able to work with sensitive information., • Comfortable working directly with senior leadership and the CFO., • Interested in building systems and processes that support long-term growth.
