Job Title: Packaging Solutions Analyst Classification: Non-Exempt Location: Newton, NC Position Type: Full Time Department: Packaging Solutions Group / War Room Pay Grade: TBD Reports To: Design and Estimating Manager Effective Date: 08/24/2026 Summary and Objective: The Packaging Solutions Analyst supports the development, estimating, and coordination of packaging and pallet solutions for customers and internal manufacturing teams. This entry-level technical role assists with design revisions, quote preparation, data management, and process documentation while developing a foundational understanding of packaging engineering principles, manufacturing operations, raw materials, and production equipment capabilities. Working under the guidance of senior team members, the Analyst utilizes systems such as Pallet Design System (PDS), Microsoft Access, and AutoCAD to support accurate specifications, costing, and production readiness. The primary objective of this role is to build technical competency, operational knowledge, and estimating accuracy while contributing to responsive customer support and efficient internal processes. Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Assist in the development and revision of pallet and packaging designs based on customer specifications, production capabilities, and company standards., 2. Support the preparation of estimates and quotations by gathering material, labor, and production data., 3. Utilize Pallet Design System (PDS), Microsoft Access, AutoCAD, and other internal systems to create, maintain, and update design and estimating records., 4. Coordinate with sales, production, purchasing, and customer service teams to ensure accurate communication of design and order requirements., 5. Review drawings, specifications, and customer requests for completeness and accuracy prior to release to manufacturing., 6. Assist with maintaining bills of materials, routing information, and manufacturing documentation., 7. Participate in design improvement initiatives focused on cost reduction, manufacturability, quality, and operational efficiency., 8. Develop a working knowledge of raw materials, production equipment, assembly methods, and manufacturing processes related to pallets and packaging products., 9. Support troubleshooting efforts involving product specifications, production challenges, or customer concerns., 10. Maintain organized electronic and physical documentation related to designs, quotations, revisions, and customer records., 11. Communicate professionally with internal departments and customers regarding design changes, quote requests, and project updates., 12. Ensure compliance with company safety standards, quality requirements, and operational procedures., 13. Assist senior team members with research, data analysis, and special projects as assigned., 14. Participate in training and skill development related to packaging design, estimating, software systems, and manufacturing operations., 15. Perform other related duties as assigned to support departmental and operational objectives. Minimum Required Qualifications: § High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree in engineering technology, drafting, industrial technology, manufacturing, business, or related field preferred. § Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Outlook. § Ability to learn and apply technical design, estimating, and manufacturing concepts. § Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. § Effective written and verbal communication skills. § Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. § Basic mathematical and analytical skills. § Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and measurements. § Willingness to learn manufacturing equipment, raw materials, and production processes. § Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment. Desired or Preferred Qualifications: § Experience using AutoCAD, Pallet Design System (PDS), Microsoft Access, or similar technical software. § Previous experience in manufacturing, packaging, pallets, lumber, or industrial operations. § Exposure to estimating, drafting, production planning, or process coordination activities. § Understanding of manufacturing workflows and cost structures. § Internship, vocational training, or coursework related to drafting, CAD, manufacturing, or engineering technology. § Familiarity with ERP, MRP, or production management systems. § Experience supporting customer-facing or internal service functions. § Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus Core Competencies: 1. However, the position requires superior leadership and influential capabilities while working with company personnel at multiple levels, customers, and outside vendors. Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. This role primarily involves office-based computer and desk work, including extended periods of sitting, typing, and viewing computer monitors. The employee may occasionally be required to stand, walk through manufacturing facilities, climb stairs, bend, reach, or lift materials and documents weighing up to 25 pounds. The position may also require periodic visits to production areas to observe manufacturing processes, review products, or support operational activities. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to distinguish details in drawings and specifications. Work Environment: The work environment for this position includes both office and manufacturing settings. The office environment is generally climate-controlled and moderately quiet, while manufacturing and warehouse areas may expose the employee to moving machinery, forklifts, saws, nail equipment, dust, vibration, and varying temperatures. Appropriate personal protective equipment may be required when entering production areas. The role requires regular interaction with employees across operations, sales, customer service, and management teams, as well as occasional communication with customers and vendors. The pace of work may vary depending on production schedules, customer demand, and project deadlines. Hours of Work: This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are normally Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Some night and weekend work may be required. Working remotely is at the discretion of the immediate supervisor. Travel: This position requires minimal travel up to 5% travel.
