Job DescriptionJob Title: Maintenance Mechanic / Mechatronics & Robotics Technician Job Description The Maintenance Mechanic / Mechatronics & Robotics Technician supports the operations maintenance team by installing, maintaining, and repairing material handling equipment, pneumatic systems, and automated packaging and distribution equipment throughout the facility. This role combines mechanical, electrical, and controls troubleshooting with hands-on maintenance work and includes mentoring junior technicians to help them grow their technical skills and performance. Responsibilities • Repair and maintain material handling equipment (MHE) and pneumatic systems to ensure reliable and safe operation., • Install, maintain, and repair automated packaging and distribution equipment across the facility., • Perform predictive and preventative maintenance procedures to reduce downtime and extend equipment life., • Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with material handling equipment, including mechanical, electrical, and controls problems., • Use electrical schematics and blueprints to identify faults and plan effective repairs., • Support maintenance activities on sorters, robotics, automated conveyor systems, and related equipment., • Apply and follow established safety standards and practices during all maintenance and repair tasks., • Document maintenance activities, findings, and parts usage using computers and Microsoft Office applications., • Mentor junior technicians by providing guidance, training, and support to build their technical capabilities., • Assist with maintenance supervision activities as needed, including prioritizing work and coordinating tasks., • Identify and communicate risks related to equipment, processes, and safety, and participate in risk management efforts., • Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to schedule work around production and downtime windows., • Work a flexible schedule, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays, to support 24/7 operations as required.Essential Skills, • At least 2 years of experience conducting predictive and preventative maintenance procedures., • At least 2 years of experience repairing material handling equipment (MHE), automated conveyor systems, or related mechanical/controls equipment., • At least 2 years of experience reading blueprints and electrical schematics., • At least 2 years of experience demonstrating and adhering to safety standards., • At least 1 year of experience troubleshooting and diagnosing material handling equipment (MHE)., • At least 1 year of experience working with computers and Microsoft Office products and applications., • Ability to perform mechanical maintenance and mechanical troubleshooting on complex systems., • Ability to perform electrical troubleshooting on automated equipment, robotics, and sortation systems., • High school diploma or equivalent., • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, nights, and holidays.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Experience with robotics, sorters, and automated material handling systems., • Experience in maintenance supervision or leading and mentoring junior technicians., • Strong risk management awareness and ability to identify and address equipment and safety risks., • Comfort working in a fast-paced, highly automated distribution or manufacturing environment., • Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with maintenance and operations teams.Why Work Here? Work Environment This role operates in a highly automated industrial or distribution facility that runs on a rotating shift schedule. Typical shifts follow a 4 days on, 3 days off pattern, with options for front half and back half day or night shifts. Example day schedules may run approximately from early morning to late afternoon or early evening, while night schedules may run from early evening to early morning. Another common pattern is 12-hour shifts from approximately 4:00 AM to 4:00 PM or 4:00 PM to 4:00 AM, typically Sunday through Wednesday or Wednesday through Saturday, depending on operational needs. The work is hands-on and physically active, requiring standing and walking for up to 12-hour shifts and the ability to move up to 49 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation. You will work around conveyors, sorters, robotics, and other automated material handling systems, using tools and diagnostic equipment to maintain and repair machinery. The environment emphasizes safety and requires the use of personal protective equipment, including provided lightweight fire-resistant daily wear and composite toe safety shoes.
