Primary Responsibilities: • Perform all banquet/event side work as designated by the Banquet Manager., • Assist with the complete setup and breakdown of the banquet/event area., • Maintain a high level of cleanliness and awareness of sanitary practices., • Presents ordered choices in a prompt and efficient manner., • Maintains dining ambiance with an enthusiastic attitude., • Prepares room for dining by setting tables and setting decorations, condiments, candles, napkins, service plates, and utensils., • Protects establishment and guests by adhering to sanitation, safety, and alcohol beverage control policies., • Helps guests select food and beverages by suggesting courses, explaining the chef’s specialties, identifying appropriate beverage pairings, and answering food preparation questions., • Transmits orders to the bar and kitchen by recording patrons’ choices and identifying patrons’ special dietary needs and special requests., • Keeps kitchen staff informed by noting the timing of meal progression., • Serves orders by picking up and delivering patrons’ choices from the bar and kitchen and delivering accompaniments and condiments from service bars., • Responds to additional patron requirements by inquiring about needs and observing the dining process., • Maintains table setting by removing courses as completed, replenishing utensils, refilling water glasses, and being alert to guest spills or other special needs., • Maintain composure in a fast-paced environment., • Relay important information about orders, allergies, and special requests to the Banquet Manager/Banquet Captain., • Respond urgently and appropriately to any concerns., • Present in professional appearance and mannerisms., • Report to the Banquet Manager/Banquet Captain any need for housekeeping and/or repairs of the banquet equipment., • Must be able to set tables to specifications, carry trays, and have an excellent customer service experience. Job Qualifications / Requirements • High school diploma or GED, • Minimum 3 years of banquet/event serving experience preferred., • Needs to meet state minimum age requirements (if alcohol will be served)., • Must be able to meet the physical demands of the job: stand for long periods of time, climb stairs, lift, carry, and maintain a weight of up to 50 lbs., • Ability to walk/stand on various surfaces, sand, grass, tile, concrete, etc., • Must use arms and hands to carry, reach, serve, clean, organize, prepare, and store, etc., • Must possess Food Handler/Responsible vendor certification., • Work is performed in either or both indoor/outdoor settings., • Must stand and walk for the duration of a scheduled shift/event. Including room breakdown to include plates, glassware, cutlery, linens etc.,, • Ability to satisfactorily communicate in English with guests, management, and co-workers to their understanding., • Extreme attention to detail and quality, • Ability to follow verbal directions in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills., • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced and dynamic team environment., • CPR/AED certification is beneficial
