Job DescriptionSalary: Position Summary The Clinical Assessor / Therapist is responsible for supporting the Clinical Team by thoroughly assessing each client using the parameters given in the Admissions Checklist. This individual is also responsible for supporting the clinical team with Family and Client Orientation, assisting with case management and referral management, coordinating clinical and holistic services being provided; and arranging additional resources. The Clinical Assessor participates in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement (CQI) activities. They understand and work within the 12 Core Functions of a CSAC candidate. The Clinical Assessor will be trained in UA/BAC screening, crisis intervention, and EMR data entry. In this role, the Clinical Assessor / Therapist may provide backup support as a Therapist to the Clinical team and provide the full range of therapeutic interventions to clients in treatment. This shall include, but not be limited to assessment and treatment services, family/relationship services, group process, educational presentations, treatment planning and review, documentation of services and client response, concurrent reviews, discharge planning, and managed care contact as directed by designated staff. Essential Job Functions Assessment Services • Assess each client that enters the program, adhering to the admissions process and procedures; and appropriately staffing the assessment before treatment placement., • Document and coordinate services with the admissions and clinical departments and provide and arrange for resources as directed by primary therapists. Complete and evaluate biopsychosocial assessments and other data collection for each assigned client as policy and procedure delineate (PRN)., • Interview family members or third parties as necessary to obtain collateral information (PRN)., • Complete individualized initial treatment plans for clients entering treatment (PRN)., • Conduct first-day client orientation and follow up on assessment related tasks, treatment plans, and assessments. Treatment Services • Orient clients to the Biosound bed, putting clients on and off Biosound, complete notes regarding Biosound results., • Maximize holistic offerings and explain the clinical benefit of each., • Assist Primary Therapists with treatment plans as needed., • Maintain current knowledge of community resources available for clients and families., • Function flexibly in stressful situations, maintaining calm control, up to and including conducting high-quality crisis intervention when directed In the role of Therapist: • Facilitate group therapy and individual therapy with appropriate clients and family members as directed., • Conduct discharge planning; contacts outpatient services, inpatient treatment providers, extended care facilities, halfway houses, and other resources to assist clients in developing and establishing a detailed continuing care plan., • Assist in the development of the clients treatment plan with other members of a treatment team and updates the treatment plan as policy and procedure delineates., • Assess clients progress in treatment and document through progress notes and other electronic documentation as directed., • Develop and present lectures and educational presentations to clients on subjects pertinent to substance use disorders as directed. Clinical Support / Case Management In the role of Therapist: • Contact family or significant third parties to provide information and arrange for participation in the clients admission or discharge., • Make appropriate contacts and follow-ups when required to EAPs, employers, probation or court authorities, attorneys, etc., • Participate in appropriate QA activities as directed. Administrative • Obtain pre-admission documentation, signatures and data per policy as well as supporting financial data from third party payors and/or family members., • Maintain and monitor client records to ensure documentation is completed within program guidelines, meeting TBI standards and timeframes., • Support policy-driven UA, BAC and Vitals as directed., • Provide timely follow-up calls to clients, family members and referral sources. Present lectures and educational presentations to clients on subjects pertinent to substance use disorders as directed. In the role of Therapist: • Perform appropriately as a treatment team member to ensure quality service to clients., • Demonstrate the clinical knowledge and professional skills required to provide care or arrange for the provision of appropriate care for all clients., • Interpret the appropriate data to identify each clients requirements, ensure and document that age-specific issues are being addressed; demonstrate age-specific competencies., • Policy-driven UA and BAC as directed. Qualifications • Masters degree in Mental Health, Psychology, Social Work, Counseling or a related behavioral health field from an accredited institution required., • At least one years training and/or clinical experience with pending licensure / certification in substance abuse counseling preferred., • Clinical experience providing individual, group, and family therapy in behavioral health, mental health, or substance use treatment setting preferred., • Experience with treatment planning, clinical documentation, crisis intervention, and evidence-based therapeutic modalities preferred, • Prior work in residential, outpatient, or multidisciplinary treatment environments preferred., • Current state licensure or licensure eligibility (e.g., LMFT, LCSW, LMHC, or equivalent)., • Dual licensure (LCAS) or certification (CADC) in substance use disorder (SUD) treatment is preferred., • First Aid / CPR Certification., • CPI Certification
