Job DescriptionLHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking an Accountant (Junior or Staff Level) to work for an outstanding Not For Profit organization in the Roslyn, NY area. We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Junior/Staff Accountant to support the financial operations of our nonprofit organization. This role will assist with day-to-day accounting functions, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, a collaborative mindset, and experience with nonprofit accounting principles. Key Responsibilities • Accounts Payable Support: Process invoices, assist with bill approvals (within small threshold), and maintain vendor records., • Bank Reconciliations: Prepare and review monthly bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy., • Billing & Journal Entries: Assist with billing processes and post journal entries for month-end close., • Allocations: Perform expense allocations across programs, grants, and departments., • Financial Reporting: Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements., • Software Utilization: Experience with NetSuite is a plus; proficiency in Excel and other accounting tools required.Qualifications, • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field., • 1-3 years of accounting experience; nonprofit experience preferred., • Strong understanding of GAAP and fund accounting principles., • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software; NetSuite experience highly desirable., • Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines., • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Preferred Skills, • Ability to work independently and as part of a team., • Familiarity with grant reporting and nonprofit compliance requirements., • Analytical mindset with problem-solving capabilities., • Must be able to work In Office. 9-5 shift.
