Senior Program Manager (Project Engineering – Power Generation) Location: Remote from Knoxville or Chattanooga, TN (preferred) Travel: Up to ~70% during peak outage seasons Type: Long-term contract (potential for extension/convert) Overview Brooksource is supporting a long-term initiative within a major utilities organization to add a Senior Program Manager to their Program Engineering group. This role supports capital maintenance and upgrade projects across a conventional generation fleet (gas, coal, hydro). This is not a hands-on design role. It is a program-level position responsible for coordinating engineering partners, internal stakeholders, and compliance teams to drive projects from early planning through execution. Responsibilities • Serve as program engineering lead across a portfolio of generation projects, • Oversee projects from early study and solution development through design, outage execution, and closeout, • Partner closely with Project Managers to ensure alignment on scope, schedule, and execution, • Lead Phase 1 studies, working with external engineering firms to develop project charters (scope, cost, risk), • Coordinate Phase 2 design efforts, including design reviews and stakeholder alignment, • Support Phase 3 execution by monitoring contractor performance, schedules, deliverables, and cost tracking, • Navigate compliance requirements across environmental, regulatory, and industry standards groups, • Ensure all documentation, drawings, and closeout materials are completed and approved, • Communicate across cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, multi-project environment Required Experience • Background in project engineering, program management, or technical leadership, • Experience coordinating across engineering teams, contractors, and operations stakeholders, • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously at different stages, • Comfortable operating in fast-paced environments with compressed timelines, • Ability to engage in technical discussions without being a primary design owner Preferred Background • Engineering background (mechanical, electrical, or civil), • Experience in power generation, utilities, or industrial environments, • Exposure to compliance-driven or regulated environments, • Experience supporting federal or Department of Defense-related programs, • Experience working with external engineering firms Additional Details • Target workload of ~20 projects once fully ramped, • Structured ramp-up based on experience, • Long-term opportunity with potential for extension or conversion Disclaimer: Brooksource, Medasource, and Calculated Hire are part of the Eight Eleven Group family of companies and operate under Eight Eleven Group, LLC.
