Responsibilities Purpose: The Senior Security Engineer reports to the IT Security Manager and is responsible for maintaining appropriate levels of information security throughout the organization. This position is for a highly motivated individual to join a specialized security team to manage and maintain our security programs across SiteOne. This position involves designing, implementing, and maintaining security solutions to safeguard sensitive data and protect against threats. The Senior Security Engineer will independently lead initiatives, drive projects as a self-starter, and collaborate with cross-functional teams providing expert guidance across multiple security domains with minimal supervision. KEY FACTORS FOR SUCCESS: • Act as a subject matter expert for Cisco ISE, Palo Alto VPN, Palo Alto XDR, Proofpoint Email Security Suite, Akamai Edge Firewall, Zero Networks, • Serve as a final internal technical point of escalation for security incidents, tickets and on-call rotation providing expert knowledge and execution, • Lead efforts of completion of security initiatives with IT and non-IT business units, • Lead enterprise security projects implementing new security technologies, programs and controls, • Lead support for existing security technologies, programs and controls, • Develop and maintain automation and scripts to streamline IT security operations, improve threat detection, and enhance system compliance., • Ability to resolve complex IT security issues and ensuring full remediation, • Assist with non-security IT issues and remediation as needed to support overall system stability and operations, • Coordinate with 3rd party vendors and lead new and existing technology implementations and maintenance, • Assist with cloud security operations and incident response as needed to maintain secure cloud environments, • Expertly perform proactive threat hunting and risk investigations, • Participate and contribute to annual risk assessment exercise, • Collection and presentation of security metrics/dashboards, • Lead in both governance/oversight roles as well as operational responsibilities Qualifications SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE: • Extensive knowledge and experience with Security tools (e.g. Logscale, Okta, Palo Alto, Varonis, Proofpoint DLP, Cisco/Meraki, Crowdstrike, Akamai, Zero Networks), • Extensive knowledge of VPN technologies, security protocols and supporting technologies such as IPSec, SSL, PKI, EAP, RADIUS, LDAP, etc., • Expert level understanding of email authentication standards - SPF, DKIM, DMARC., • Expert level network background and hands-on experience implementing security configurations on network access devices., • Outstanding customer service focus and attention to detail, • Independent self-starter, proactive and professional assertive., • Outstanding oral and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and computer literacy., • Interface well with business associates as well as technology staff and vendors, • Extensive analytical and problem-solving skills., • Extensive understanding of the CISSP security domains, • Expert level understanding of OSI layers, network protocols (IP, ICMP, TCP, UDP), network services (DNS, DHCP, HTTP), routing protocols, • Extensive experience with Windows, Linux Operating Systems, • Extensive experience with SOX and PCI-DSS processes and control reviews, • Proficiency with MS Office Suite (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)., • Outstanding customer service focus and attention to detail, • Ability and willingness to train and mentor counterparts at all levels including juniors EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: • Bachelor’s Degree in Cyber Security, Information Security, Information Technology, Computer Science or related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience), • 7+ years of IT security experience, • CISSP, CISA, CISM, or other industry certifications preferred.
