Job DescriptionCompany Description KIPP Miami is part of the KIPP (Knowledge is Power Program) national nonprofit network of college-preparatory, public charter schools educating elementary, middle and high school students. Applicants, please note that this role has a projected start date in July 2026 Job Description KIPP Miami seeks an experienced High School Geometry Teacher to design and deliver a rigorous, college‑preparatory Geometry program. The ideal candidate has a proven record teaching high school mathematics and can lead courses such as Geometry Honors, Advanced Geometry, and pathways preparing students for Algebra II Honors, Pre‑Calculus, AP Calculus, AP Statistics, AICE Mathematics, and IB Mathematics. Coursework will integrate career and technical education (CTE) strands (e.g., architecture, engineering, design technology, construction, and computer-aided design [CAD]) and problem‑based learning tied to South Florida’s industries and STEM opportunities. Instruction & Curriculum • Plan and teach a rigorous, standards‑aligned Geometry curriculum (including Honors and advanced pathways) that meets Florida’s B.E.S.T. Standards and Miami‑Dade advanced program expectations., • Develop unit plans that integrate mathematical reasoning, geometric proofs, coordinate geometry, trigonometry applications, and transformational geometry., • Incorporate technology-rich instruction using graphing software, dynamic geometry platforms (e.g., GeoGebra), CAD tools, and design challenges., • Develop assessments and performance tasks aligned to state benchmarks and advanced programs; use data to provide targeted support and track mastery., • Collaborate with the mathematics department to ensure vertical alignment with Algebra I, Algebra II, and higher-level math courses, including AP, AICE, IB, and Dual Enrollment., • Embed CTE competencies (e.g., CAD software use, construction design principles, engineering applications) in course projects., • Prepare students for industry-recognized certifications (e.g., OSHA‑10, CAD fundamentals, pre-engineering certifications)., • Model and uphold KIPP Miami’s Heartbeat Principles in all interactions; create an inclusive, purposeful classroom culture with high expectations and joy., • Collaborate with colleagues in professional learning communities, content teams, and advanced programs alignment., • Contribute to a school‑wide culture of continuous improvement through coaching cycles, peer feedback, and shared best practices.Qualifications Required Education & Experience • Bachelor's degree is required, • A degree in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, Engineering, Architecture, or related field is preferred., • At least two (2) years of full‑time high school teaching experience in mathematics (required)., • Demonstrated ability to deliver rigorous instruction and achieve measurable student growth in teaching Geometry, Geometry Honors, Advanced Geometry, and preparing students for AP, AICE, IB, or Dual Enrollment math pathways., • Valid Florida Educator Certificate (or eligibility) in Mathematics (6–12). (Candidates pursuing reciprocity or temporary certification must be eligible under Florida statutes.), • Strong data literacy; proficiency with instructional technology (graphing calculators, GeoGebra, Google Workspace, LMS, assessment platforms)., • Commitment to complete required CTE coursework and pass state CTE examinations relevant to assigned pathways within the first 24 months of employment (tuition/fees may be eligible for reimbursement per KIPP Miami policy)., • Strong proficiency with instructional technology and data‑driven decision‑making., • Satisfactory background check and fingerprint clearance. The usual and customary methods of performing the job’s functions require the following physical demands: • Prolonged periods of sitting at computer or working at desk and significant fine finger dexterity., • Often required to stand and sit. Additional Information Compensation & Benefits The salary range for this role is $55,550-$62,250, commensurate with experience.
