This person will help oversee core workstreams including cash, sales, third-party delivery, inventory and cost of sales, gift cards, pre-opening analysis, and indirect tax support. This role offers the opportunity to combine team leadership, process ownership, and technical accounting involvement while partnering closely with leadership as the business continues to grow. KEY BEHAVIORS: • Strong attention to detail and personal accountability, • Ability to lead processes, set priorities, and keep workstreams moving, • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, • Willingness to dig into issues and drive follow-up, • Clear communicator who can work effectively across departments, • Calm, dependable leadership style with a strong sense of ownership, • Comfortable operating in a growing environment where processes continue to evolveROLES + RESPONSIBILITIES:, • Oversee day-to-day accounting activities and help ensure work is completed accurately and on time across assigned areas, • Provide direct oversight, guidance, and development for a Staff Accountant, including work review, prioritization, and coaching, • Review and support journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules across multiple accounting areas, • Oversee bank reconciliations across company accounts, ensuring reconciling items are identified, researched, and resolved timely, • Monitor and review daily bank activity to support accurate cash accounting and reporting, • Oversee daily sales reconciliations, including point-of-sale activity, payment processors, and cash and credit card deposits, • Manage and review third-party delivery accounting, including sales, commissions, fees, chargebacks, and receivable reconciliations, • Perform and review inventory and cost of goods sold analyses, including trend analysis, variance review, and issue identification, • Oversee gift card accounting, including sales, redemptions, reconciliations, and related reporting, • Support pre-opening financial analysis for new restaurant locations, including tracking and proper accounting treatment of opening-related costs, • Assist with sales tax and other indirect tax support, including reconciliations, schedules, and coordination with internal and external partners, • Play a key role in the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close process, with increasing responsibility over time, • Investigate variances, unusual transactions, and process issues, and help drive timely resolution, • Support audit requests and provide documentation for external auditors and other compliance-related needs, • Help strengthen accounting processes, controls, and accountability across the function, • Partner cross-functionally with operations, FP&A, and other teams to improve data accuracy and financial visibility, • Support special projects, process improvement initiatives, and ad hoc analysis as neededREQUIREMENTS:, • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, • 5–8+ years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in a multi-unit, restaurant, retail, or other consumer-facing environment, • Prior experience overseeing or mentoring at least one junior team member, • Strong understanding of general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and close support, • Experience in operational accounting areas such as cash, sales, inventory, cost of sales, gift cards, and account reconciliations, • Familiarity with third-party delivery accounting, sales tax, and pre-opening or new-unit accounting is a plus, • Strong Excel skills and comfort working with large volumes of data, • Experience with ERP/accounting systems and POS/reporting platforms preferred honeygrow is an equal opportunity employer.
