Job Description EXPERIENCED Production Manager (Position) Develop and/or validate manufacturing processes for short/medium run size fabrication/machining operation specializing in complex component parts and/or assemblies, predominantly metal; Tight tolerances, ASME Pressure Vessels, diverse weld procedures, time and cost sensitive environment. Work in concert with full support of in-house Estimating Department, QA/QC/NDE department, Welding Engineer, Product/Project Engineers, Logistics Department. Skills & Qualifications · Education & Experience * • 7-10 years of experience in manufacturing, encompassing welding, machining, finishing, estimating, routing, and scheduling., • Proven leadership in managing 50+ manufacturing personnel across various departments, including CNC machining, welding, finishing, and assembly. · Technical Expertise * • Highly proficient in fabrication/production planning and resource management., • Experience in estimating, time studies, and job budget management., • Strong understanding of GD&T, CNC programming, and manual machining techniques. · Practical Skills * • Welding:, • Understanding in GTAW, FCAW, SAW, and heat-treating processes., • Experience with materials such as Carbon, Stainless Steel, Inconel, Super Duplex, and Chrome Moly., • Knowledge of NDE methods, including VT, PT, RT, and Hydrotesting., • Machining:, • Proficiency in 3-5 axis CNC milling and CNC turning with live tooling., • Experience with manual machining, including operations on VTLs, horizontal bore mills, and long bed lathes., • Familiarity with surface and Blanchard grinding techniques., • Finishing:, • Knowledge of blast preparation, painting, anodizing services, etc. · Leadership & Management * • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams, fostering collaboration and ensuring alignment with production goals., • Strong problem-solving skills, with the capacity to address and resolve production challenges promptly., • Experience in developing and implementing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and continuous improvement initiatives. · Certifications & Compliance * • Familiarity with ISO 9001, ASME, ITAR, NAVSEA, and CMMC 2.0 standards a plus. Position Responsibilities • Manufacturing Process Development & Optimization, • Develop, validate, and continuously improve manufacturing processes for short-to-medium run fabrication and machining of complex metal components and assemblies., • Ensure all processes meet stringent dimensional tolerances, ASME and ISO standards, and material handling needs, including diverse weld procedures and complex machining setups., • Leadership & Department Oversight, • Provide hands-on leadership and daily oversight to leads across key departments: CNC and manual machining, welding/fabrication, programming, finishing (blast/paint), assembly, and crating., • Support leadership development among department leads to improve staff supervision, cross-department coordination, and accountability., • Production Planning & Scheduling, • Collaborate with planning and estimation teams to develop detailed, production schedules., • Sequence and prioritize operations to minimize downtime, maximize throughput, and ensure alignment with customer deadlines and material availability., • Actively monitor progress and adjust plans in real time to respond to machine readiness, external vendor delays, and urgent order requirements., • Daily Execution & Crisis Management, • Drive daily production execution across departments. Ensure that job routings are followed, bottlenecks are addressed, and quality is not compromised., • Lead rapid response efforts to address equipment breakdowns, labor shortages, or material constraints, maintaining continuity of operations., • Quality & Compliance Coordination, • Partner with the Quality Manager to ensure department adherence to ISO 9001, ASME, NAVSEA, and customer-specific quality standards., • Support audit readiness, root cause investigation, and corrective action implementation for non-conformance or production issues., • Cost & Efficiency Improvement, • Work with Estimating and Engineering to analyze actual vs. estimated job costs and identify process improvements., • Support time studies, labor tracking, and routing accuracy to reduce waste and improve quoting accuracy., • Infrastructure & Capability Development, • Identify and lead implementation of tooling, fixturing, and capital improvement needs that support long-term growth., • Contribute to the design and refinement of work instructions, SOPs, and production workflows that scale with company growth and reduce operator variability.Company DescriptionPrimary Flow Signal is a leading U.S.-based manufacturer specializing in precision-engineered flow measurement devices and venturi meters used in critical industrial applications worldwide.
