Job DescriptionJob Title: 1st Shift Shipping Clerk / Warehouse Worker Job Description This role supports a busy distribution facility that manufactures automotive parts by handling day-to-day shipping, receiving, and warehouse activities on 1st shift. You will work in a fast-paced environment to pick orders, load and unload trucks, manage inventory, and prepare products for shipment using RF scanners and warehouse equipment. Responsibilities • Receive incoming materials and restock inventory in designated locations, including dispatch and overstock areas., • Load and unload materials from trucks safely and efficiently., • Break down boxes and package items securely for shipment., • Use rolling stairs, order pickers, and RF scanners to locate, pick, and fulfill orders for the automotive industry., • Pick orders from various heights using rolling safety ladders that may range from approximately 7 to 15 steps., • Package and label items for shipment according to company standards., • Assist warehouse supervisors and team members with additional tasks as needed., • Support accurate warehouse inventory by organizing stock and reporting discrepancies., • Operate pallet jacks to move materials and pallets throughout the warehouse., • Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining safety and quality standards., • Follow all safety guidelines when working around machinery and equipment, including forklifts operating in the facility., • Work mandatory overtime as required, including up to 2 additional hours daily and occasional Saturdays.Essential Skills, • Experience with shipping and receiving in a warehouse or distribution environment., • Proficiency in order picking and packing, including packaging items for shipment., • Ability to use RF scanners to locate, pick, and track inventory., • Experience with pallet jacks for moving materials and pallets., • Ability to regularly lift and move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and move up to 100 pounds., • Comfort using rolling safety ladders of approximately 5–7 steps and, when needed, taller ladders up to about 15 feet for shipping tasks., • Ability to stand, walk, sit, push, pull, and reach with hands and arms throughout the shift., • Ability to occasionally climb or balance and stoop, kneel, or squat as required by warehouse tasks., • Ability to speak, read, and write English to follow instructions, safety procedures, and documentation., • Comfort working in a fast-paced environment and the ability to stay self-motivated while working independently., • Flexibility to work 1st shift Monday through Friday with mandatory overtime up to 2 hours daily and occasional Saturdays., • Flexibility to start at either 5:30 AM or 6:30 AM and work until approximately 2:00 PM or 3:00 PM, as required.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Prior experience working in an automotive parts distribution or manufacturing environment is helpful., • Previous experience with warehouse inventory processes is an advantage., • Ability to collaborate with supervisors and team members while also taking initiative to work independently., • Willingness to learn additional equipment, including potential future forklift training once hired directly by the company.Why Work Here? Work Environment You will work in a busy distribution warehouse that manufactures and ships automotive parts. The facility operates on 1st shift, Monday through Friday, with mandatory overtime of up to 2 hours daily and occasional Saturday work. Typical start times are either 5:30 AM or 6:30 AM, with end times around 2:00 PM or 3:00 PM, so flexibility with start and end times is essential. The noise level in the warehouse is usually high due to forklifts and other machinery running throughout the facility. You will frequently use RF scanners, rolling safety ladders, order pickers, and pallet jacks, and you will move throughout the warehouse on your feet for most of the shift. The role requires regular lifting, climbing stairs, and working at various heights when picking orders. The dress code consists of a plain shirt, jeans without holes, and closed-toe shoes, with no logos related to alcohol or similar products. Safety is a priority, and you will follow established procedures while working around active equipment and in a fast-paced environment. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Brea, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
