This facility, located at 10628 Park Rd, Charlotte, NC, offers state-of-the-art care for patients with complex conditions such as COPD, Heart Failure, Cardiac Arrhythmias, Renal Failure, and Sepsis. The unit features 36 beds with an average census of 36, providing a challenging yet rewarding environment for experienced nurses. \n As a PCU RN, you'll be responsible for delivering top-tier patient care to a diverse patient population, including those requiring mechanical ventilation, tracheostomy care, titratable IV drips, and advanced cardiac monitoring. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team that includes certified support staff, virtual nursing, and specialists to ensure optimal patient outcomes. \n Key Responsibilities: \n\n • Deliver comprehensive care to patients with acute and chronic conditions, such as COPD, Heart Failure, and post-ventilation management.\n, • Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms, manage chest tubes, and care for trached and vented patients.\n, • Administer blood products and manage wound care/dressing changes.\n, • Perform tracheostomy care, IV therapy, and titratable medication adjustments.\n, • Collaborate with support staff, including CNAs, virtual nurses, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, case managers, and specialists.\n, • Document accurately in the EMR (EPIC) and utilize advanced monitoring equipment.\n, • _RN: Must possess an active and unrestricted _ BLS __\n, • _RN: Must possess an active and unrestricted _ ACLS __\n, • Minimum of 18 months experience in a PCU or similar acute care setting.\n, • Proven experience with ventilated and trached patients, including trach care and ventilator management.\n, • Familiarity with cardiac rhythm interpretation and the management of cardiac gtts.\n, • Ability to care for critically ill patients requiring mechanical ventilation, BIPAP/CPAP, high flow nasal cannula, and hypothermia protocols.\n, • Skilled in performing blood draws, phlebotomy, and medication administration.\n, • Strong bedside assessment and patient advocacy skills.\n, • Valid Driver's License and proof of insurance may be required for floating to different facilities.\n, • Comprehensive support from dedicated team members including case managers, clinical nurse specialists, RTs, pharmacists, and educators.\n, • Virtual nursing support for admissions, discharges, and patient observation.\n, • Access to advanced medical technology including EPIC EMR, Phillips monitors, Omnicell medication systems, and Alaris IV pumps.\n, • Shift: 12-hour Night Shift (6:50 PM - 7:20 AM or 6:50 PM - 7:20 AM depending on schedule)\n, • Schedule: Every other weekend, working 75% of holidays.\n, • Orientation: Two days departmental orientation and NEO onboarding.\n, • Parking: Free on-site parking.\n, • Scrubs: Navy Blue.\n, • Family-oriented, collaborative culture emphasizing teamwork.\n, • Professional growth opportunities within a leading healthcare system.\n Excite Health Partners Job ID #192159.
