About the Position We are seeking a detail-driven and adaptable HR Specialist - Total Rewards & HRIS to join our People Services team. This role is critical in ensuring our compensation and benefits programs are competitive, compliant, and easy for team members to navigate. In addition, this person will be the data steward for our HR systems, ensuring accuracy and delivering insights that help shape NEI’s total rewards strategy. The ideal candidate brings expertise in benefits administration, a strong compliance mindset, and the flexibility to master HR technology platforms as our systems evolve. Salary Range: $72,000 - $105,0000 / year The salary range above is based on the Denver, Colorado labor market. This opportunity is available to both local / in-office (Lakewood, CO) and full-time remote candidates. Essential Responsibilities Benefits Administration & Compliance: • Lead the day-to-day administration of benefits programs (health, dental, vision, retirement, wellness, paid time off, leave of absence, etc.)., • Partner with vendors and brokers to deliver high-quality, cost-effective benefits., • Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations (ACA, ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, FMLA, etc.)., • Oversee open enrollment, communications, and education to create a positive team member experience., • Monitor benefit utilization and trends; make recommendations for program improvements in alignment with NEI’s strategy., • Handle team member inquiries and resolve issues related to benefits., • Maintain benefits plans and literature in HRIS and NEI intranet., • Accurately reconcile benefit invoices and team member paycheck contributions, resolving errors. HRIS & Data management: • Act as a primary administrator for Paycom, ensuring accuracy of employee data, benefits, and compensation records., • Adapt quickly to future HRIS platforms and optimize system functionality to support People Services., • Partner with IT to optimize HRIS integrations with Business Intelligence and Deltek Vantagepoint tools for accurate data flow., • Conduct regular data audits, troubleshoot issues, and maintain system integrity., • Generate reports and dashboards that provide insights into workforce trends and total rewards metrics, delivering analytical support for broader HR programs and strategies with a focus on compensation and benefits. Compensation & Total Rewards: • Maintain compensation data within HR systems and support annual compensation processes., • Contribute to compensation benchmarking and surveys, ensuring NEI remains competitive., • Ensure all compensation and benefits programs comply with federal, state, and local regulations. Program management: • Collaborate with Finance, IT, and key stakeholders on cross-functional initiatives., • Develop and update HR policies and procedures to maintain compliance and consistency., • Stay informed on industry trends and best practices to guide continuous improvement., • Contribute to projects involving compliance, workforce planning, and retention. Must Have • Experience: 5+ years of relevant HR experience; 3+ years specializing in benefits administration, • Education: Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field, • Certification: CCP, CBP, SHRM-CP, PHR, preferred but not required, • Demonstrates professionalism, sound judgment, and discretion, with the ability to take initiative, prioritize competing tasks, and deliver results as a highly organized, motivated self-starter., • Expert in Excel and data reporting, with the ability to analyze and present workforce data and a strong understanding of BI tools and data structures., • Comfortable working with ambiguity and creating systems and plans where there are none, • Hands-on Paycom experience preferred; ability to learn and adapt to new HR systems quickly., • Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations (e.g., ACA, ERISA, HIPAA, COBRA, FMLA, FLSA)., • Must have a comprehensive understanding of local, state, and federal employment laws, • A strong written and verbal command of the English language, • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis Nice to Have • Payroll experience, including familiarity with payroll processes and system integrations, is a plus Working Conditions Work Environment: Work is performed in an office setting.
