Job Description Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Location: Syracuse, NY (In-office required) Salary: $175K to $200K+ Bonus opportunity for successfully implementing outsourced accounting to streamline day-to-day accounting operations, with additional incentives tied to EBITDA multiplier performance. Client's Company Overview: The company is a leading national OEM heavy equipment distributor, recognized for its customer-centric approach and long-standing success in the industry. As the company continues to expand and evolve, it seeks a dynamic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to oversee and lead all financial functions of the organization, with a particular focus on inventory-heavy operations, service-based revenue, and strategic financial planning. In addition, the company has a software component that is focused on heavy construction equipment rentals, sales, and service, with a mobile asset inspection app module that can be sold to contractors and trucking companies. This is close to going live. Vision: Grow to multiple store locations. Build the base that can be replicated over multiple stores Position Summary: As CFO, you will serve as a key member of the leadership team, responsible for directing the company’s financial strategy and operations. Key Responsibilities: • Provide strategic financial leadership to support company growth and operational goals, • Oversee all financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and compliance, • Manage internal accounting functions, including payroll, tax compliance, inventory management, and cost control, • Analyze operational and financial data to guide executive decision-making, • Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements and management reports, • Lead financial planning and analysis (FP&A) and implement best practices for financial health, • Monitor the financial performance of parts and service departments to identify areas of improvement, • Maintain compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, • Collaborate cross-functionally with operations and leadership teams to align financial and business strategies, • Provide leadership and development for accounting and finance team members, • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; Graduate degree preferred, • CPA designation strongly preferred, • Proven experience in a senior accounting or finance leadership role (CFO, Controller, or equivalent), • Strong generalist background with a deep understanding of inventory and service revenue models, • Demonstrated success in budgeting, forecasting, and financial strategy, • Knowledge of tax regulations, GAAP, and internal controls, • Proficient in accounting software and ERP/inventory systems EOE
