Description and Requirements Responsible for supporting the NPI (New Products Introduction) process and introducing new products to manufacturing. Also responsible for providing manufacturing support, ensuring processes and products meet Lenovo's established quality and productivity standards. Additionally, this role participates in continuous improvement projects through daily actions or project participation. Location: Whitsett, United States Key Responsibilities • Introduce new products to manufacturing., • Search and analyze information on assembly, testing, packaging, process times, devices, and resources provided by the lead site or focal WW., • Analyze samples, assembly, and disassembly of new product units to understand the product., • Prepare process documentation (LOB, Procedures, SFC, Training, and Layouts)., • Work in conjunction with NPI coordinators, providing area schedules and updates to process steps., • Represent the area during the introduction phase of new products or new manufacturing concepts., • Conduct Time and motion studies of manufacturing processes and support initial line balancing., • Provide and record training to the entire Manufacturing population (operators, repairers, inspectors, and engineering assistants)., • Support the development of devices to aid Manufacturing., • Lead and direct continuous improvement projects using Lean Six Sigma tools., • Support Engineers to ensure processes meet OHSE, ergonomics, medical department, fire department, etc. requirements., • Update documentation (LOB, procedures, SFC, E-SOP, layout, standard work, etc.) whenever there are process changes., • Support the analysis of all requests for process or product changes through PCNs or ECs., • Develop action plans for problems found in the production process (OOB, failures at inspection stations, failure to meet proposed rates, etc.). Basic Qualifications • High school diploma or technical certification., • Bachelor’s or associate degree in manufacturing engineering or industrial technology or related Field., • Experience: 2 to 3 years relevant experience., • Experience in electronics or server hardware assembly preferred., • Familiarity with ESD-safe handling procedures., • Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity., • Basic computer skills for data entry and equipment interface., • Knowledge of tools like Ishikawa/Fishbone diagram, PDCA, FMEA, and 8D., • Advanced knowledge of chrono analysis, sampling plans, and process/procedure definition for efficiency improvements., • Advanced knowledge of the Office package (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)., • Advanced knowledge and certification in Lean Six Sigma (Yellow or Greenbelt)., • Intermediate knowledge of general quality tools and methodologies.
