Role at a Glance As an Electro-Mechanical Maintenance Technician, you’ll keep our plant machinery and support systems operating safely and efficiently. On any given night, you might align a drive system, trace an electrical fault with a meter, program a VFD, fabricate a bracket, or assist with a new machine install—always with safety and quality front and center. Compensation & Schedule • Pay: $19–$25 per hour, paid weekly, • Shift Differential: +$2.50/hr, • Sign-on Bonus: $1,500, • Champion safety: follow all OMS policies, procedures, and guidelines., • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on industrial machinery and plant systems., • Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues using hand/power tools and test equipment., • Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical wiring, equipment, machinery, apparatus, and fixtures., • Connect wiring to circuit breakers, transformers, and related components; verify proper operation., • Program and troubleshoot Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) and PLC-based controls., • Fabricate and install mechanical parts and fittings; perform safe rigging and related tasks., • Weld and use oxy-acetylene equipment safely and effectively., • Lay out, calculate measurements, balance, and align rotating/reciprocating equipment., • Keep electrical systems compliant with applicable local, state, and federal codes., • Make or adapt parts from cold rolled steel, stainless, plate, structural members, and other metals., • Deliver error-free work for internal and external customers; follow OMS safety and quality processes., • Maintain a clean, organized workspace; work under direct supervision; perform other duties as assigned. What You Bring, • High School Diploma or equivalent., • 2+ years in a manufacturing/industrial maintenance environment., • Strong mechanical aptitude; able to diagnose and repair complex systems., • Experience supporting advanced processing equipment, CNC machinery, material handling systems, press brakes, lifting devices, and sawing equipment., • Competence with VFD and PLC programming and troubleshooting., • Proficiency with laser alignment and vibration monitoring practices., • Knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems., • Ability to test electrical systems and continuity with ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes., • Skill in welding and oxy-acetylene work; able to maintain welding certification., • Qualified to operate forklifts, high lifts, and cranes; able to maintain required certifications., • Comfortable with hand tools such as hammers, pliers, screwdrivers, wrenches, drills, grinders, and banders., • Self-motivated, detail-focused, and capable of working independently while following direction., • Able to speak, write, and understand conversational English. Physical & Work Environment, • Stand and walk for prolonged periods, including 2–5 miles per shift., • Frequently bend, sit, stand, twist, and stoop., • Lift and carry 25–50 lbs from floor to waist; front-carry 25–50 lbs repeatedly per shift., • Reach overhead; squat, kneel; climb short ladders and steps., • Work from ladders, scaffolds, and roofs to install/maintain/repair wiring, equipment, and fixtures., • Fine motor coordination for precise hand and finger movements., • Read labels, follow safety and SOPs, and communicate effectively in an industrial setting., • Vision: 20/30 with corrective lenses., • Indoor/outdoor conditions with changing temperatures, loud noise, and vibration., • Hazards may include moving mechanical parts, electrical current, high heat, and chemicals., • Atmospheric exposures may include fumes, odors, dust, mist, gas, or limited ventilation.
