Job Description Warehouse Lead/Supervisor Job Description The Warehouse Supervisor oversees daily warehouse operations with a strong focus on inventory accuracy, efficient material flow, and food safety. This role evaluates, designs, and improves warehouse and distribution solutions to support both new and existing business, while ensuring accurate handling of all inbound and outbound products. The Warehouse Supervisor leads and develops warehouse staff, including forklift operators, to maintain a safe, compliant, and highly efficient fulfillment environment. Responsibilities • Schedule and supervise all shipping and receiving functions, including the work of forklift operators and warehouse staff., • Ensure accurate handling of all inbound and outbound products, maintaining high standards of inventory control and order accuracy., • Improve warehouse work processes through strategic planning to create a more efficient fulfillment system., • Plan warehouse layouts to maximize inventory control, facility layout, facility flow, and process flow, using related data analysis to support decisions., • Evaluate, design, and propose supply chain and warehouse solutions to support new and existing business requirements., • Examine shipment contents and compare them with records such as manifests, invoices, and orders to verify the accuracy of incoming and outgoing shipments., • Prepare shipping and receiving documentation, including work orders, bills of lading, and shipping orders to route materials correctly., • Record shipment data such as weight, charges, space availability, damages, and discrepancies for reporting, accounting, and recordkeeping purposes., • Ensure understanding of and adherence to food safety guidelines across all warehouse operations., • Process all inbound and outbound shipments, including sorting, logging, delivering, packing, and shipping materials., • Audit each shipment prior to packing to confirm that goods match the order and meet quality standards., • Inspect all incoming freight for damage and follow up with purchasing to resolve any damaged freight issues., • Provide training and certification for all forklift drivers as a train-the-trainer certified leader., • Proven experience supervising warehouse operations, including shipping, receiving, and inventory control., • Strong knowledge of inventory management and warehouse inventory processes., • Hands-on experience with forklift operations and the ability to supervise forklift operators effectively., • Demonstrated ability to plan and optimize warehouse layouts, facility flow, and process flow., • Experience evaluating, designing, and proposing supply chain or warehouse solutions., • Ability to accurately verify shipment contents against manifests, invoices, and orders., • Proficiency in preparing shipping and receiving documents such as work orders, bills of lading, and shipping orders., • Ability to record and track shipment data, including weight, charges, space availability, damages, and discrepancies., • Understanding of and commitment to food safety guidelines within a warehouse or food manufacturing environment., • Strong attention to detail when auditing shipments and inspecting freight for damage., • Experience in a food manufacturing or food-related warehouse environment., • Experience in warehouse inventory control within a manufacturing or distribution setting., • Train-the-trainer certification or equivalent qualification to test and certify forklift drivers., • Experience leading special projects or initiatives related to warehouse support functions., • Comfort with data analysis related to facility layout, process flow, and inventory control. Work Environment This role is based in a warehouse setting that supports food-related operations, requiring adherence to strict food safety guidelines. The environment involves active supervision on the warehouse floor, working closely with shipping, receiving, and forklift operations. You will work with standard warehouse equipment, including forklifts, and use documentation and recordkeeping tools to manage shipments and inventory. The position requires comfort in a physically active environment with regular movement between different areas of the facility and close coordination with warehouse staff and related departments. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Orange, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $33.80 - $33.80/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
