Job Description Warehouse Assistant Manager Job Description POSITION SUMMARY: Assists the Warehouse Manager in the successful planning of daily workloads for both the inbound and outbound teams, across multiple shifts. Direct and coordinate activities of employees engaged in receiving, put-away, picking, shipping, and loading of local delivery trucks. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES: • Assist with Interviews, hiring, training, and coaching warehouse staff., • Oversees the daily workflow, • Initiates disciplinary action in collaboration with the Warehouse Manager and Human Resources, when necessary, • Provide backup coverage in the absence of the Warehouse Manager, • Makes sure that quality meets company standards, • Ensures the safe use of warehouse equipment, with a high focus on overall safety, • Performs all necessary warehouse functions (receiving to shipping) as needed, • Holds the team accountable for maintaining designated work areas and overall housekeeping standards, • Ensures orderly and safe working conditions of work areas, grounds, trucks, tools, fixtures, and equipment, and arranges for repairs or replacements as needed, • Recommends tools, fixtures, equipment, or layout changes to improve the workflow, productivity, quality, and efficiency, • Makes recommendations to reduce error rates in all areas of the operation, • Identifies, documents, and implements opportunities for improvement, • Address personnel issues promptly and diplomatically, maintaining proper documentation of such issues, • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, • Ability to give training and presentations, • Maintains a high level of confidentiality, trust, and integrity, • Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail, • Great analytical and problem-solving skills, • Ability to meet tight deadlines and pivot quickly as needed, • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, • Strong supervisory skills, • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer, • Ability to perform the following physical tasks: sitting, standing, stretching, walking, bending, twisting, reaching, performing repetitive motions, climbing stairs, and carrying boxes, • Minimum of a High School diploma or GED, • At least 3 years of warehouse experience, • At least 3 years of supervisory experience, preferably within a warehouse environment, • Experience with Warehouse Management inventory type systems, • Be able to correctly perform basic arithmetic operations (e.g., add, subtract, multiply, divide), and word problems, • Know how to use warehouse equipment safely (e.g., stretch wraps, PPE, and power tools), • Forklift certified, • Possess a valid U.S. Driver's License, • Proficient in MS Office, • Able to pass a drug and background check
